farmer12 Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Is it me or did the Virginia Beach zones change completely? I'm not as experienced at this game as most of you, I've only used PL and this site for one hotel, but I've been looking at Virginia Beach and it seems like the zones are now very different from what they used to be and from what is posted on the Virginia-PL Hotel List on this site. Thanks!
thereuare Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Yes, it appears that there has been a recent zone and/or boundary change in this area... we'll add it to the list of areas to re-classify.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ponderus Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Priceline Hotel List - Connecticut UpdateHoliday Inn New London is no longer affiliated with Holiday Inn as of 12/31/10 and has been renamed Hotel Latitude 41. I assume this also means they are no longer a Priceline hotel?
thereuare Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 I assume this also means they are no longer a Priceline hotel? Not necessarily... the new owners/management may still choose to participate with all of their previous suppliers and booking agencies. ponderus Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 "Hotle Latitude 41" needs a quick spelling correction. Thanks for updating!
mrxow Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 I think the 2.5* Orange County (Fullerton-Brea) Holiday Inn Express is now a Best Western...
scottlevin Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 According to the Hotwire list, there was once an "Airport" zone and a "Santa Clara" zone. Now it seems they have merged? Is that possible?I should also point out that the Hyatt San Jose listed there is now the San Jose Airport Garden Hotel.
Colfax Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 It looks like Hotwire merged the San Jose Downtown (not Santa Clara) and San Jose Airport zones into a single "San Jose Area" zone. I'll post this change in the "New Zone Boudaries" section, because I think that's where thereuare usually looks for boundary changes. Thanks for pointing out the zone merge.
Colfax Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Hotwire, San Jose, California. The former "San Jose Downtown" and "San Jose Airport" zones are merged into a single "San Jose Area" zone.Tip of the hat to scottlevin for noticing the change.
travelAlot Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Just wanted to alert any San Diego visitors that a 3-star bid is, as of June 9, is now limited to one total free re-bid zone -- as some of the previous 2.5-star-and-under zones now have 3-star properties. There used to be 3-4 free re-bid zones; now only San Ysidro (for obvious reasons) is the only sub-3-star zone. So only one free re-bid zone exixts if you want to immediately rebid for a 3-star.As the FAQs on this site emphasize, always always doublecheck Priceline's designation for each zone before bidding and do not assume that a hotel list or previous research still applies (new hotels open, old hotels are refurbed, etc.) With summer travel coming up, wanted to throw this out re SD.

scottlevin Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks for all the info above.Seems like the Century City area got added to Westwood instead of Beverly Hills on PL.I think this is a good idea as the old zones were a bit mismatched in size.

ctrlaltcoupe Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 FYI - In Scranton The Holiday Inn East (200 Tigue St, Dunmore) has changed to a Best Western. I know this because I am local, not because of Priceline. It changed about a month or 2 ago. I'm not sure how this will affect Priceline.
