  1. Also, Quincy is a city near boston, so if you mean Quincy Market please specify that area. Another thing we would need to know is if you would be willing to try Priceline. Looking at hotwire, I'd guess that you can win a 4* in Downtown boston somewhere between $60-80/night.
  2. Welcome! You can either browse our Hotwire hotel list to check for matches, or you can post what hotels you are looking to receive information about (area/star level/amenities/price). *EDIT* fixed link - try this and see what you can find.
  3. Can you please post your winning bid information in the appropriate sections for your flight and hotel (Airfare and Hotels/Other Countries). Once you do so, we will answer your question.
  4. I'm not sure you are aware of the tragic events of July 10: Big Dig Accident This is creating a major impact on Boston's traffic, so commuting into the city willt take longer than normal. Other services (subway and commuter rail) are also seeing increased ridership, so parking may be scarce near the stations. So if Boston is your final destination, this is something to consider when planning your commute into the city.
  5. If you have questions, please ask before bidding. You can start with either of the first three, depending on which area is your preferred area. This starts off at $100 and jumps quicker than usual as rates are high for your dates and it's quickly approaching (i.e. if you aren't swede and/or are looking for other dates - Don't try this for your trip). Select 4* Downtown Bid $100, if rejected add rebid area 1... Bid $110, if rejected add rebid area 2... Bid $120, if rejected add rebid area 3... 6. There is a 20,000 person convention going on during your stay. Many hotels are sold out, or have rates well above $300/night. Hotwire isn't showing much availability, so you may not have success on Priceline within your price range. Quikbook has the Bulfinch hotel, reviews, located near North Station for $179/night. If you want to give Priceline a try, let us know and we'll assist you.
  7. There is always the possibility that Priceline will "upgrade" your bid from a 2 or 2.5* to a 3* hotel if your bid is successful for the 3* level. Your bid is for your lowest acceptable star level. Therefore, you run the risk of being upgraded to the Radisson if you bid too high at the 2* or 2.5* level. That being said, there is a Courtyard downtown, which may be rated a 2.5*. However, it hasn't been reported for a long time, so I wouldn't count on receiving it. If you are looking for more help, please post your dates and the most you are willing to spend (pre-taxes).
  8. Can you please log into HOTWIRE and reply in this thread with the Nine Zero's current amenities list.
  9. You may want to try the following. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. Select 4* Revere-Logan... Bid $55, if rejected add rebid zone 1... Bid $60, if rejected add rebid zone 2... Bid $65, if rejected close browser and open a new window. Select 4* Revere-Logan and re-bid zone3... Bid $70, if rejected add rebid zone 1... Bid $75, if rejected add rebid zone 2... Bid $80.
  10. Welcome! I don't think you fully understand how Priceline works. Read the following threads and let us know if you would still like to try Priceline. How Priceline works Don't bid higher for a specific hotel
  11. That'll be taken care of shortly. Congratulations and enjoy your stay.
  12. Rack rates for 7/13: Hilton Logan - $369 Hyatt Harborside - $419 Your options are stay at a lower quality hotel, try a different area, or pay an arm and a leg for this busy night.
  13. As your stay is mid-July, you can always try again after 24 hours if unsuccessful. As you mentioned you want to stay below $70, give the following a try: Select 4* Revere-Logan Bid $55, if rejected add rebid area 1... Bid $60, if rejected add rebid area 2... Bid $65, if rejected add rebid area 3... Bid $70,
  14. That's why you need to follow the steps provided in the link above. If you'd like to give it a try, read the Priceline rebidding thread to help identify the 3 free rebid areas for Boston. Once you've identified them in the name your own price section, we'll provide you with bidding advice.
  15. I've already suggested a Priceline bidding strategy for you try. Read my previous post for the answer. They are the same area on Priceline. Many hotels do not offer complimentary breakfast. You can always purchase a box of donuts/bagels/etc along with juice(s) at a local store for your morning breakfast.
  16. Cape Cod isn't a hot-spot for Priceline, so there aren't many reported hotels. If you want to start low, I'd begin with a 3* Hyannis bid around $85. You don't have any free rebids for the 3* level, so you would need to try bidding every 24 hours if you aren't successful the first try.
  17. Looking at the amenities and the suggested retail, possibly the HoJo Fenway Park. For Priceline, I'd try the following: 2.5* Copley Bid $70, if rejected close browser 2.5* Downtown (by trying this area, you could get a hotel downtown - anywhere between 0.5 to 2 miles) Bid $70, if rejected add Copley Bid $80 If this doesn't work, you can either start a little lower and try the 2* level or you could give Hotwire a try.
  18. Welcome! How much are you looking to spend? For comparison Hotwire is showing a 3* for $157 per night for July 9-12. Once you know when you'd like to stay in Boston, please create a new thread for that stay. :)
  19. Please keep everything in this thread, as it's only 1 trip. There aren't any free rebids at this level. For the 2-2.5* level in Copley, you likely are only bidding on 1-3 hotels. This limits the possibility of being accepted. If you absolutely need a room for under $100, I'd also consider staying in Downtown Boston and using the subway or taking a taxi. Some hotels in this area are walkable (1-2 miles) to Copley. Let us know if you'd like to try Downtown and I'll try to create a bidding strategy for you.
  20. We rarely see any wins reported for the 2* level in Copley. We need to know the following to assist you: 1) What are your dates? 2) How much are you looking to spend?
  21. You already seem to know how to rebid properly, so there wasn't much need for that advice. Hotwire doesn't have any 3* availability in Downtown Hartford for your dates. And since you "must" be downtown, the cheaper 3* alternatives in East Hartford and Bradley/Windsor are out of the picture. (The Sheraton is in priceline's E. Hartford area) That leaves you with the appropriate advice given above.
  22. Reviews Using Priceline, you'd receive a hotel within a area and hotel class that you choose. If rates haven't changed over the past 3-4 weeks, you should be able to get this hotel (or possibly another) for under $85/night.
  23. Your amenities don't quite match anything on our Hotwire List. As I'm seeing this right now on Hotwire, were the amenities "Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business" ? If so, it would appear to be the Boston Park Plaza. Let us know if the amenities matched what I listed above. Also let us know if you'd like to try Priceline before using Hotwire.
  24. In order to understand how to bid on priceline, you will need to learn how to find your priceline rebid areas. Once you find the 3 areas in Boston that lack 4* hotels, please post their names and we'll provide you with bidding advice. Also, there is a list of reported Priceline hotels. It should give you an idea of what hotels are in the 4* category. However, you cannot pick which one you will receive, so you will either need to set your max to $150 and accept any of the 4* hotels or set it to $100. Let us know the 3 rebidding areas and what your current maximum will be for the 4* level.
