Lexa You probably wont ever know why and even if you found a way to contact Sheryl she will ignore you...just ask questions here where they are much more friendly and helpful
I may be blind and totally missing it on the site but looking for 2 rooms for 7/6-8 I came up with a LBV 3* for $95. Amenties are: Rest, pool, golf, breakfast, fitness, tennis Any ideas? thanks! Diane
I dont have personal experience but from what I have read it sounds really nice. A little further out from the parks I think but supposed to be quite a nice place
I was just thinking too what a good price that is for the Gaylord. Most have been around $85-$95 so that makes up for the extra fees I think..plus check the going rate and you got a deal
Boy some sure are "desperate" over there arent they? To come here and do that? Heaven forbid anyone dared to post something like that on the "other" board! By the way the read I read it is if you have already tried to add a night once and were denied you cannot keep trying?
Just an update...thereuare told me what I was doing wrong with the reverse EasyClickTravel and the hotel is now on the list.. I went ahead and booked it and it IS the Fairfield Inn in Pigeon Forge which gets great reveiws -so thanks!
I sent an email to thereuare as it didnt show what hotel with reverse easy click at least from what I could tell. I also forgot to include the description on my post above for some reason. I did do a yahoo search with some of the description and the Fairfield Pigeon Forge showed up so I am thinking it must be it..
if looking for a Hotwire tool you can use: Hotwire Reverse Lookup
(EDIT BY THEREUARE)
Hello. Looking at 2 rooms for 7/17-19 in Pigeon Forge TN. I tried the search using part of the description below and I think its the Fairfield Inn in Pigeon Forge. Do you think I am right? Also I did a search for more then one person but every option for all the hotels that came back in the details says 1 person. Does that mean anything that I should worry about? The rate is $55.83 which is about $20 less then the senior rate we can get with my mom with us so its a good deal and the hotel looks nice and gets good reviews.
thanks for any help!
Diane
FWIW, I know this is a little old but this hotel is much nicer then many of the 3* we have gotten on Priceline..just had a total rehab too which is why I am surprised you say it was downgraded..
I read your review and I feel the same way about this place. We have had the misfortune of getting it twice on Priceline and now are leery of bidding for 3* which is a shame since there are other nice ones. I cant believe that with all the complaints (and I know there have to be) Priceline hasnt changed the star rating on this place. I would send your pics in to them with a complaint
I imagine it would have to do with the Hilton having rooms available for Priceline at that time and at what price. If they arent offering any rooms then other hotels would come up if you hit their "number". Some have started low at $60 and had to work their way up to the $93 or whatever is accepted at the Gaylord Palms. That sounds to me like Hilton wasnt available but Gaylord was at their price - sometimes you can be lucky and "skip over" the Hilton by bidding higher IF the Gaylord is available but thats something you just dont know going in
You could bid $93 and get the Hilton or any other resort..that is why people are discouraged from bidding high in hopes of getting a specific resort. Sometimes it works...but sometimes it doesnt and you overbid
We have gotten this hotel twice on Priceline and were not thrilled with it..I think $61 is high too as on Priceline it goes for less..just my opinion :)
I like this hotel and consider it one of the better 3* hotels in the area..the pool is really nice with a cool slide and we thought the rooms were clean and nice too..great location too
If you sign up for the newsletter on www.mousesavers.com you can get a link to a place that offers decent prices on tickets. I have used them and they are legit
Wow I still think Hotwire dropped the ball on this one..I understand their policies but you would have written proof of where you needed to be and they could easily see how the mistake was made. Talk about no compassion
I personally would monitor the situation for a bit and check with the hotel..they may very well be fine by then..if not then you would need to contact Priceline to hopefully get a refund
It might not hurt to call Priceline and complain about the reviews and the rating as someone else I believe also did..at least they will have more documentation about it
