  1. I was too slow. It's alresdy off the board. Thanks anyway - I'll keep looking.
  2. Looking to get away for a last minute trip to Florida. Thoughts on what hotel this might be (used Betterbidding HOTWIRE link)? 2 Adults/1Child (12/27/14-1/2/15) $95/night Total for 6 nights = $669.11 ◾Free parking ◾Free Internet ◾Smoke-free rooms ◾Pool(s) ◾Restaurant(s) ◾Business center ◾Self-service laundry ◾Internet access ◾Golf nearby ◾In-room accessibility ◾Wheelchair accessible
  3. I can see why people like this place (95% positive reviews). Very friendly staff, close to attractions and generally solid amenities. My 9 year old daughter said the pool was a bit disappointing, but we just got back from a Westin Resort vacation so her perspective is a bit out of touch with reality. This is a nice Holiday Inn property. Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Laundry, Hi Speed Internet Used Betterbidding HOTWIRE link.
  4. The hotel staff was great and the accomodations were fantastic. While the breakfast at the Embassy Suites would have been nice, I can't complain about the Crowne Plaza. We had a wonderful stay at a ridiculously low rate for this area. Heck, we could have had breakfast at the Four Seasons with the money we saved! We didn't of course...but we could have :)
  5. I was hoping for Embassy Suites, but CP will do. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $43.00 Subtotal: $86.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.52 Total Charges*: $103.52 Used PRICELINE link to bid.
  6. Going to the Falls for the night and thought this was a good deal. I tried Priceline, but couldn't get a better price, so I pulled the trigger with Hotwire. Based on the amenities listed on Betterbidding, I was pretty confident that this was Sheraton on the Falls. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program I used your HOTWIRE link to book the hotel. Thanks!
  7. This is a great deal...I think you will really like staying at the Gaylord Palms. Don't be shy about asking for a room upgrade. My wife did and a very nice girl at the front desk upgraded us to an atrium view room in the Emerald Bay section of the resort at no additional charge. While some folks have complained about late night noise in the atrium view rooms, we didn't notice it at all. Regardless of whether you get an upgraded room or not, I doubt you'll be disapointed, especially at this price - wow!!!
  8. I agree with AaronJB. Each and every situation is different and the best alternative is to start a new thread and seek assistance on your specific travel plans. I certainly didn't have any magic formula for getting the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for this trip. I just used the advice I had seen previously posted on the Betterbidding.com site and hoped for the best. We all know that there is no way to target a preferred hotel and you are subject to the laws of supply and demand. You just have to be willing to take that leap of faith. One thing to keep in mind - with the current state of the economy, I think it is becoming apparent that deals can be had even in traditional "high seasons" and you shouldn't be afraid to go low... Good Luck on your bidding! Remember to use the sponsored PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, and support page links so we can keep this terrific resource available to all.
  9. Forgot to post this when I got the win. This was a great deal for this area. We really enjoyed the hotel. The only drawback was the indoor pool area and exercise room were under construction during the stay, but that was a minimal inconvenience. I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link for this bid.
  10. It took patience and a bunch of re-bids, but I finally got a bite at $82. Based on the reviews I've seen - I'm really pleased with this win. I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link to get the win.
  11. Have a late flight into Orlando Monday, so we needed a place to crash for one night before moving onto Melbourne. This seemed to fit the bill. and although the reviews haven't been very kind, it's just one night. Orlando Airport (MCO) 5435 Forbes Place Orlando, Florida 32812 407-816-7800 Check-In Date: Mon, Mar 10, 2008 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Tue, Mar 11, 2008 / 11:00 AM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $43.00 Subtotal: $43.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.94 Total Charges*: $55.94 Bidding history ($38 MCO zone rejected, added Winter Park zone $40 rejected, added West Disney zone $43 accepted) Used Betterbidding.com PRICELINE link.
  12. I had a similar PL car rental reservation at $21/day for travel from 3/08-3/15 (see link at Priceline Orlando Car Rental Bid). Unfortunately, the Ohio Blizzard of 2008 changed our plans a bit. I called priceline customer service and asked if they could push the entire 7 day reservation to begin on Monday the 10th as that's the earliest flight we could re-schedule. They couldn't do that, but they agreed to cancel my previous reservation and refund the entire amount, which was decent of them as they were under no obligation to do so. Since I didn't have much time to get another reservation through PL, I bid the same amount ($21/day) for my new travel dates. It was rejected, but with an one-time offer to increase the price without waiting 24 hours. I upped it a buck, and got a winner. Your Offer Price: $22.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 7 days Subtotal: $154.00 Taxes and Fees: $46.82 Total Charges: $200.82 Lowest Published Price: $365.99 Total Savings:* $165.17 (You saved 45%) I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link to make the reservation.
  13. Your Offer Price: $21.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 7 days Subtotal: $147.00 Taxes and Fees: $43.77 Total Charges: $190.77 Lowest Published Price: $319.99 Total Savings:* $129.22 (You saved 40%) Bids were rejected daily from $15/day through $20/day until I hit the magic number.
  14. Crowne Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront 2605 N. Hwy A1a Indialantic, Florida 32903 321-777-4100 Check-In Date: Tue, Mar 11, 2008 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Mar 15, 2008 / 11:00 AM Four Nights @ $122/night I wanted Oceanfront and was pretty sure that 3* would get me there. Started bidding at $65/night (rejected) and used North Melbourne area for free re-bids each time I bid. $70 - rejected $80 - rejected $90 - rejected $100 - rejected $110 - rejected, but interestingly enough it said that I wouldn't have to wait 24 hours to re-bid if I added $12 to the bid (never saw that before). I tried to counter by adding $6, but they wouldn't let it go through. I bit the bullet, added $12 and got the win. Used Savingsbarn to start each bid. Internet room rate for this hotel was $206/night, so not too bad.
  15. Unfortunately, I used the "old" BetterBidding.com HOTWIRE link that I had saved in my IE Favorites folder. It directed me to SavingsBarn, through which I made my bid. I didn't realize that you now have your own HOTWIRE link. I'll use it in the future.
