  1. It just means that the hotel doesn't participate in the "name your own price" service.
  2. my experience is from 10% to 30% normally but sometimes up to 40%. Average is 20-25%. the 10% is usually when I am booking 2 months or more in advance.
  3. I'd guess the 2.5* is the Hampton Inn LBV, but hotwire may have upgraded the ExtendedStay Deluxe to a 2.5*. It could also be the Holiday Inn Express LBV that recently opened. Good luck.
  4. I have a friend who has been trying for 12/7 for 3 nights and retail prices are in the mid $500 to $600 range for most 4*'s. Hotwire has no 4*'s available and the 3*'s are in the mid $300 to $400's. He ended up turning in some (alot) of his amex points for the free nights instead.
  5. There is a PAYPAL donation link on the main page in the upper right corner.
  6. initially got a full size for $18 a day but took the upgrade of $4 a day for the SUV.
  7. I, personally, am a slight bit scared of the $84 rate hotel as there is a reason that it's not a Fairfield Inn and Suites anymore. Usually it means Marriott had issues (quality, non payment of royalites, etc) with the hotel.
  8. I did a package search (hotel&car) for the same dates and couldn't find a match. It could be the hotel you mentioned but I'd personally guess it something along the lines of a Days Inn, Howard Johnson or similar independent hotel. You might be disappointed.
  9. failed at $31, $32, and $33 Hyatt Regency Suites Perimeter Northwest Check-In Date: Thursday, November 23, 2006 Check-Out Date: Saturday, November 25, 2006 Your Offer Price: $34.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $68.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.38 Total Charges*: $85.38
  10. It is the only thing relevant to your question. Listing the amenties shown will help you determine the EXACT hotel.
  11. I don't know why you haven't won the Renaissance yet as it is showing available on HOTWIRE for $112 when I search for 2 adults. If that price is acceptable I'd just buy it from HOTWIRE but make sure you use the link to support this site. The Renaissance is the 4* hotel in the downtown zone that has these amenities showing: Hotel Amenities Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby you can confirm that it's the Renaissance if you do a search for a package with a car & hotel. (I type too slow)
  12. the non suite is one of the two La Quinta's at the airport, most likely the exteriot corridor "west" location. the suite hotel is one of the two Amerisuites at the airport, most likely the airport "west" location. I would suggest trying for a 2.5* on priceline before buying these, as the Amerisuites can usually be won for $33 to $36. The only other reported 2.5* that I know of (might not be on the lists here) are the Wingate Inn and the Courtyard by marriott which are both newer properties. There is a chance you could be upgrade to a 3* but probably not until you bid in the $40+ range. The La Quinta's are only 2* on priceline.
  13. my guess is a La Quinta or an Extended Stay Deluxe.
  14. "real" slot machines have arrived in Broward County, that is the purpose of the trip.
  15. rejected at $28. Extended Stay America-Convention Center Check-In Date: Thursday, December 7, 2006 Check-Out Date: Saturday, December 9, 2006 Downtown Ft Lauderdale 1450 Se 17th Street Causeway Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316 Your Offer Price: $29.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.26 Total Charges*: $72.26
  16. you might want to take a look at how "free" rebids work as you didn't need to keep dropping star levels on this bid. This might have caused you to overbid for a 2*.
  17. I thought Thanksgiving in October was a Canadian thing????? :) ps - always use Universal Blvd to get around from that hotel. Avoid I-drive like you would any highway in ATL during rush hour.
  18. yeah, this board is just like that one. Thereuare is always demanding posters use his links or else. He is constantly banned anyone for disagreeing with him or his policies and how long would this thread exist elsewhere? na na na na......hey hey hey........... :) :)
  19. If they were not full, then you have a better chance of getting it refunded. If they sold out and you "cost" them revenue then your probably stuck. I'd call the hotel direct and speak to the GM (only) and be honest. He is used to all the excuses (death in family, sickness, car broke down, etc) and might be surprised by your honesty. If that fails then call 800-621-0555 and ask for their help (HI Guest Relations). In making your case to them, make sure to mention your other stays at Holiday Inn as "brand loyality" is their main goal and sometimes they will ask the hotel to issue "goodwill credit". Good luck. ps - what city????
