  1. I do not want pay too much for the hotel. I do have a reservation directly from the hilton for Millenium Hilton for $229 plus tax for one night on 11/23. Incidentally, I was told the same thing that the night of 11/23 was sold out at the Hilton NY at this time. Meaning while, I want to see if I can get a better rate for the Millenium Hilton from PL....
  2. Ok, I can increase the bid, but by how much? 1) I do not want take any risk to stay a hotel may ruin my family vacation (I just share a room my friend, who did not listen to me and booked the room through the internet, for a hotel in west 43st/7th ave. for $177 (with tax) during a school re-union last weekend at NYC. But the room was horrible
  3. I plan to take my kids to see the Thanksgiving Parade and the balloon blow-up event at the Central Park this year. So I try to reserve two nights hotel in NYC (11/23-11/24). I prefer to stay at the Hilton NYC, which I had won several bids from the Priceline at very reasonable prices ($95-$110). However, I check the last year history that post on this forum regarding this hotel, I did not see any winning bid during this period (or other major holidays). Do I miss any thing? Or the hotels won't release any room to Priceline for holiday seasons? Any comments? Thanks!
  4. Just found out from budget.com, for a Premium car, for 9 days between 7/4 to 7/13: cost US$ 260, plus tax about US$100, total US$360. However, when I called budget, I was informed a Ford Tauraus may be considered as a premium car in Canada? I lost...Anyone can help?
  5. I think the above comment is not fair. I have followed this website for sometimes and I feel it is very useful. My recommendation is that you need to do your homework to make sure you understand the policies of
  6. "You can also try the bturner strategy of tipping $20 as described in this thread: TIPPING AT HOTELS". Reading Bturner's message, I am amazed. Are you sure he is not a hotel front desk staff? Anyone else has similar experience (either at the hotel front desk or at the air-port gate)? Thanks,
  7. One more comment: It seems that Clarion is 10 miles west from the Virginia beach and the Sheraton, which is located at Norfolk downtown, is about 20 miles west from the beach. However, the Sheraton is located on the waterfront. Experience from both hotels are welcomed. Thanks.
  8. Please clarify if the Clarion is located on the following address. Thanks. Address: 4453 Bonney Rd Norfolk Region: Virginia Beach The above hotel is listed as 3 stars on their website. However, betterbidding/priceline said it is listed as 2 stars.
  9. It seems that this hotel is not on the beach. Anyone can tell me if I can bid a room (3* and above) on Priceline on the beach, or within one block (ocean front is not necessary) ? Thanks
  10. My friend want to get a room at the Philadelphia (university) area in June (for an exam at the campus). Do you see any reports for any other hotels (2* or 3*) beside the Sheraton? Thanks.
  11. Hilton Towers 11/26-11/28, Bid at $95 on MTW, rejected, but Priceline offered for a rebid with an extra $22, (Ignored Priceline offer) re-Bid at $98, added MTE, rejected, bid $100, added UM/CPS, accepted for Hilton and Towers. Just what I wanted it!
  12. I see there is only one 3* hotel listed under the priceline/Williamsburg area Is it ture? How much chance I can get it at the last minutes? We need two-three rooms. We paid $120/per night (average) for three nights. Thanks.
  13. Thanks, Expedia has agreed to upgrade us and put us into a 4* hotel/suites. However, it is about 4-5 miles away... that's all they can do after my friends have been fighting them since last night... The Expedia/Hotel's explanation is that some properties of our reserved hotels (Kingsgate (3*)) were damaged by water. I guess I will introduce my friends to use Priceline.com next time, and certainly betterbidding.com. , savingsbarn.com Thanks, Have a wonderful spring season!
  14. I need help here. About one month ago, my friend booked three nights for us at Fairfield Willimsburg at Kingsgate (suite) between 4/3-4/5 through Expedia.com. money was paid in full. I called hotel last night, found they do not have our reservation. No room will be available to us (as well as to our friend). Meanwhile, Expedia.com is trying to solve this problem for us, However, we do not what will happen, Anyone can give us help for a last minutes deal at Williamsburg duing this time period? If possible, we prefer a suite with a kitchen. Thanks.
  15. bidding update (rejected): I did following today. However, my offers were rejected. My bidding history was (I aimed on MTW only, because I donot like the east site of the middle town much). $110 for MTW; rejected; $115, added UM/CP, rejected; $120, added UWS, rejected; $130, added UES, still rejected. I do not want added too much $$ on top right way. I remember someone got five nights at X'msa weekend at Hilton for $95 per night (that bid was acceptted in Nov.!). I do not know how that could happen. I guess I will wait (I could be wrong). but bidding is fun itself. thanks.
  16. Thanks, Now my questions are 1) Are there actually rooms atill available for these two days from these hotels? 2) what price should I start with now? 3) if I include 3*, then what is the bidding plan? ( I noticed that Sheraton NY hotel/towers is under the 3* list, however, I remember there are two Sheratons at the same block, which one is which?). Thanks, dolphin

  18. Hi, Dear Administrator, Thank you for replying my questions. I like this website a lot. I have shared this website with many of my friends who are afraid of using PriceLine. My wife and I lived in NYC for 5 years (but it was more than ten years ago). It is an exciting city. Now we want to go back to experience the
  19. Additional Clarification Needed: There are six 4* hotel listed under MTW zoon. I know two of them. I do not mind stay at NY Hilton (if it is little old when I was there last year, but it is clear). I do not know other four hotels conditions. Someone help? Thanks, I failed to find a room last year at NYE. I hope this year I am luck.
  20. Congratulations! You mean you get New York Marriott Marquis at TIME Sq for $110 at New Year Eve? Excellent! Would you provide the bidding history for this deal? Did you also include the other bidding Zones (MTW, UM/C, etc) in you bid. Thanks.
  21. I have been trying to get two nights at NTW (Nov.28-29) at a price for $95, using strategies (re-bid with different zones) given by this website. No luck so far (at least three failures). Should I raise the limit now? I still have some time (see post under
  22. This trick may be too later for you this time, but you, or others, may try it next time. Here is the trick: If you split two bids, for example, three nights into two bid, two nights plus one. After got first bid, You can call the Priceline, if the room is available; they can extend one night for you at your bidding price at the same hotel. You don
  23. Do you know, most of time, you can ask to waive the "resort fee"if you are not planning to use its "fee required" facilities, or to receive "delivered to door" newspaper (you can get it for 50 cnets). Just tell them when you check-in. I tried at the Dolphin and Hilton. It works.
