$149.97 after taxes and junk fees. Bid $99 on PL, got a counter for $127. Went to PLEx w/o rebidding.

Excellent property and price for long airport layover. Former Moevenpick, though I read a bit tired. Final price $64.94
Final cost $76. (Hotwire showed what I believe is the same property for $66 base). I've stayed before when it was the Moevenpick. Very convenient to airport for long layover. I read that it could stand renovation, but very satisfaction property and price for my purpose.

Excellent price for a very good property for non-weekend stay. Was not posted as available until almost midnight prior to check-in. Already on hotel list, usual amenities. Giveaway to identity is the "90% recommend" (most 4 star hotels in central Brussels on HW and PL are older properties with spottier results)
w/ the fees, final price was w/in $10 of booking directly. However, as a result of prior poor experience w/ Hot.wire I had $50 credit (Hotdollars) to burn.

Disputed the charge with credit card (Fidelity Amex, administered by Citicard), who would do NOTHING for me, citing that I had checked in rather than walk away. I then filed a complaint w/ BBB of San Francisco. Hotwire immediately offered me a $25 credit for misrating + another $25 credit for condition of property. They also advised that they had re-rated property from 3.5 stars to 2 stars. I accepted the offer.
This property is rated 2 stars by Expe.dia and can be booked directly for $20 cheaper than the Hot.wire rate. It might be 2 stars, were it not in deplorable condition. It has a 2.4 (out of 5) customer rating, and that is as a 2 star. The hotel rates itself as 2 stars. Based on this misclassification, I asked Hotwire for a refund. They refused, claiming that they start with the Expedia rating and adjust based on customer feedback. So much for Hotwire customer service. This is outright fraud. I am now disputing the charge on my credit card.
