  1. For this one: 3* Ft Lauderdale Airport (FLL) South (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $219/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> agree with the Holiday Inn Ft. Lauderdale Airport Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  2. This is in reference to the last person who booked a hotel of this same star rating in the zone... it has nothing to do with the hotel that is currently being offered. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Please follow-up your threads whatever you decide to do for this trip (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Lastly, if you decide to forgo PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, note that our current Priceline Coupon also works on pre-paid 'regular rate' hotels as well.
  3. Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and this property will suit your needs for this trip. Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay... and maybe a cheesesteak (or two!)
  4. What Disney hotel(s) are you looking for and what is your maximum budget (per nite for this trip? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  5. Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding! You can easily ID hotels now with our new feature of our BiddingHelper tool: 1) do your search at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab (or Hotwire Easy View) 3) hover your mouse (or click) the 'SEE MATCH from HOTEL LIST' button Using this method the following hotel(s): 4.5* Cancun Hotel Zone South (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $105/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Marriott Cancun Resort 4.5* Cancun Hotel Zone South (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $151/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa 4.5* Cancun Hotel Zone South (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $383/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool All Inclusive ==> Hard Rock Cancun All-Inclusive Based upon the information above i'm guessing that the $84/nite hotel you originally saw yesterday is a different property than the $149/nite hotel you're now seeing. As well, with the Hard Rock selling thru regular rates for $538/nite for your dates, the chances that you're seeing it for $85 or even $150 is extremely unlikely. If you do move forward with PRICELINE (or HOTWIRE) it would be appreciated if you made your purchase using the links on the board (which works for both desktop and mobile) and not thru the app, as this helps us continue to keep the board going as a free resource for everyone. Also, assuming you have used PRICELINE / HOTWIRE in the 10+ years since joining the board, please begin to share your wins so that others can benefit from the information, just as you are hoping to gain insight by those who have posted before you. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help. PS- please also update your email address with the board as the one you are using is no longer valid and is bouncing back to us based upon your subscription to this thread. Thanks.
  6. Congratulations on your success! Hope you're happy with the results and this property will work well, and be convenient, for your plans in the area. We took are of this for you, but in the future there should be a GREEN button on the top right and/or bottom left of the page 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN'... this will give you a form to use to report the hotel win as well as add any details of your purchases in a reply. Once this button is used it disappears which is why you don't see it any more (as we just used it to edit the topic title to reflect your purchase). Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  7. An awesome deal! Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
  8. Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm local to the area so feel free to ask any other questions you may have, but some thoughts/suggestions: You don't really need (or perhaps want to) stay as close as possible to Times Square as you will likely spend far less time there than you think... what you really want, imo, is a midtown hotel that is close to a subway station (and ideally with multiple subway lines at that station). This way you can easily get to Times Square as well as most other places in the city that you intend to visit. With the above noted, in addition to the Parker New York which you have found, i'm seeing the following: 4* HOTWIRE Madison Square Garden for $158 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel ==> Stewart Hotel... used to be the Affinia Manhattan up until a few years ago at which point it was renovated and became the Stewart. Not the fanciest hotel in NYC, but recent reviews are solid, it's a bit easier on your budget, and the location is excellent (right across the street from Penn Station so multiple subway lines to get you just about anywhere you need to go) and is also walk-able to Times Square. 4.5* Midtown East (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $189/nite with: Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> San Carlos Hotel... a bit less convenient than the one above but reviews are excellent. The location is certainly do-able, but do keep in mind you're giving up a little in terms of location for the quality of hotel. 4.5* Madison Square Garden - Convention Area (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $200/nite with: Pets Allowed Fitness Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet ==> Crowne Plaza HY36... another hotel with excellent reviews, around the same price as the Parker and San Carlos, so another one to consider. Fairly new hotel (about 2-3 years old) that has a great location (2 blocks from Penn Station and less than a 10 minute walk to Times Square) and as i mentioned, gets terrific reviews. 5* HOTWIRE Times Square for $179 Free internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired ==> InterContinental Times Square... good location if trying to be close to Times Square and want to say you were at a '5 star' hotel, but i think some of the other hotels above (Crowne Plaza HY36) offer a better value 4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $138 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom ==> Doubletree Metropolitan... a little to far east to be considered ideal, but still do-able. The hotel is clean but otherwise a bit tired and 'meh', but the price is pretty good if budget is your primary concern. Any of the above of interest? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts (or how it goes if you take one of the above) and we'll take it from there.
  9. GREAT to see your persistence pay off... sometimes it's easy to give up but i'm glad to see you stuck with it and were successful! Thank you for sharing your win and experience with the board. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Have a great trip!
  10. Congratulations on your success... looks like a nice, inexpensive, deal for the nite. Nice to see you were able to figure this one out before purchase and it was the hotel you were expecting (for the future our the BiddingHelper.com's new feature in the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab can do the work for you ) Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
  11. GREAT... congratulations on your success! Nice to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the results. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay and have fun at the parks!
  12. You can easily ID these hotels with the newest feature from our BiddingHelper tool... 1) search at BiddingHelper.com 2) click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab 3) hover your mouse (or click if on mobile device) the 'FIND MATCH from HOTEL LIST' Using this method for each of the above: 4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $162 Free internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center ==> Even Hotels New York Midtown East 4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $173.03 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Business center Internet access ==> Doubletree Metropolitan New York... although earlier on a previous search i did see the Affinia 50 offered for around this same price, so if the Doubletree or Affinia 50 are of interest, be sure to let us know before moving forward so we can see if we can get the Affinia 50 to re-appear and highlight the difference between the two hotels to ensure you get the one you're hoping for Is the Shelburne the only hotel you're willing to stay at for this trip or are you open to other options? If you're open to other hotels, let us know what you liked most about the Shelburne, and what your needs are for this trip, so we can help find something that best meets your goals. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. PLEASE remember to follow-up this thread with whatever you decide to do for this trip (even if you don't use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, book a regular rate hotel, cancel the trip, etc)
  13. Make sure to direct them to the bidding form at BiddingForHotelRooms.com if they are looking to make their own bids as it will save them the trouble you went thru trying to locate the bidding page. Sometimes you'll be offered the opportunity to bid again before 24 hours, but you can't count on this to be offered. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  14. In the example above you're placing TWO BIDS inside of 24 hours... that is where your re-bid zone(s) come into play, not having to wait 24 hours. However, for the St. Louis region you only have one re-bid zone, which is what enables you to place a second bid inside of 24 hours. Do you understand re-bidding and how to determine your re-bid zone? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
  15. Not really, it doesn't have to be much lower than that... HOTWIRE Hot Rates and PRICELINE EXPRESS prices are already discounted, so you're not that likely going to see another 35% discount from the already discounted prices. A 35% (or more) discount from regular retail rates is a reasonable target, but we usually don't see priceline bidding result in an additional 35% savings from Express Deal rates. 3-4 days is not really a lot of time when you have only one re-bid zone available. You have to remember that hotel pricing, and inventory, is dynamic in that it is always changing... what if a hotel would accept $53/nite right now, but because you start unreasonably low at $41 and go up in small increments, that by the time you get to $53 the hotel is no longer available (or rates have increased beyond $53)? It's easy to play the small increment game when you have a lot of re-bid zones, or when you have a few weeks before arrival, but inside of 3 days i think you have more to lose than gain. However, it's your money and trip, so you can start as low as you'd like, although i continue to believe you'll likely need to be in the $50-$60 area to be successful. Given your bias towards waiting and small increments perhaps: Select 3* and Fenton... Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $51 If rejected wait 24 hours and use BiddingForHotelRooms to re-access priceline (and not a link in an email they may send letting you know you're eligible to bid again): Bid $54, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $57 If the above too is rejected i'd then take the following PRICELINE EXPRESS offer along with the board 5% Priceline Coupon discount: 3* Fenton - Kirkwood (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $63/nite with: Free Parking Free Breakfast Fitness Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> for which our best guess is the Holiday Inn Express and Suites St. Louis West Fenton Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  16. Are you seeing either of these at the moment as neither are appearing for my search for your dates. Although i do get the following from HOTWIRE (which as per the message at the top of the page, as well as in my signature and in the Hotwire Coupon page) is currently offering an additional 8% off: 4* HOTWIRE Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek for $224 Resort Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Spa services ==> Dolphin is our best guess for this one Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  17. We will of course start lower, but i think you're most likely looking at the $50-$60 range for a 3 star hotel for these dates... what would be your maximum bid price? Also, are there any other areas that are acceptable but are not including because you think they are over your budget? With only one re-bid zone available at the 3 star level it would be helpful if there were any other areas that could be included. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there.
  18. When i click that link i get the following message at the top of the search results: ... and in the search results below the message i see the $246/nite offer i listed above.
  19. I'm not seeing the 2.5* at $215/nite offer no matter how i search... can you provide the URL from the search results page and then the URL after you click the offer.
  20. Thanks, please remember to close your threads (and share your wins) so that the board remains well organized and most useful for everyone.
  21. I don't believe you previously asked for a link to NYOP, and therefore i didn't know to provide one. You had asked for a way to see threads pertaining to 'Fenton' which is the purpose of the link above. As priceline continues to move/hide the link to Name Your Own Price, we have set up the following page for easy access: BiddingForHotelRooms.com We can't offer any suggestions for bid prices or strategies without knowing your travel dates, since prices differ from one nite to the next. For multiple reasons i prefer not to use the app.
  22. I'm not seeing the 2.5* when searching for your dates, i'm seeing this one: 2.5* Fort Lauderdale Downtown - Cruise Port - Convention Center (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $246/nite with: Free Breakfast Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale/Downtown Las Olas and for a higher star rating for just $20 more: 3.5* Fort Lauderdale Downtown - Cruise Port - Convention Center (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $268/nite with: Fitness Center Airport Shuttle Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise The 2.5 star that i'm not seeing (if you are still seeing that one, can you click on it and get to the checkout page... and if so, are you using any filters to have this one appear?) might be the Fairfield Inn and Suites Fort Lauderdale Downtown/Las Olas, but i can't say with any degree of certainty without being able to see the offer on my own search. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
  23. No, as the difference is that i was searching for 2 adults... in many areas searching for more than double occupancy will increase the price (and sometimes even cause different hotels to be offered, so important to include this information in your post to ensure we research the correct hotel). Based upon searching for 3adults/0children: 4* HOTWIRE Santa Barbara Beach for $149 Free internet Pet friendly Near beach Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center ==> Hyatt Centric Santa Barbara 3* HOTWIRE Santa Barbara Beach for $142 Free parking Free breakfast Free internet Near beach Pool(s) ==> Mason Beach Inn I now (when searching for 3 adults) see the same prices as you. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
  24. GREAT... glad to hear you had a nice stay and that your friend was impressed! Often airport hotels get 'tired' quickly since there are so many single nite stays (7 different guests in 7 nites creates more wear and tear on a room than 1 guest for 7 nites) so it's nice to hear that this is a good one. We'll expect to see her around in the board in the future. Thanks for the follow-up!
  25. Hi, The prices are i'm seeing are higher than what you have listed... are you quoting rates in USD (as the prices below are in USD) and/or are you searching for something other than the default 1room/2adults/0children? For the first hotel: 4* HOTWIRE Santa Barbara Beach for $129 Free internet Pet friendly Near beach Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center ==> Hyatt Centric Santa Barbara For the second: 3* HOTWIRE Santa Barbara Beach for $133 Free parking Free breakfast Free internet Near beach Pool(s) ==> Santa Barbara Guest House When searching using our BiddingHelper.com tool you should be able to see each of these names by clicking the EASY VIEW tab and then hovering your mouse over the 'SEE MATCH from HOTEL LIST' button within each listing. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help.
