Heide Szeto
Planning to stay in Boston August 12-August 14. Was wondering where and what I should bid? Hoping to spend no more than $125 a night. Thank you! Link to comment
thereuare
Please start by following-up your previous Priceline Monterey and Priceline Orlando threads with whatever you ended up doing for each of those trips. For Boston... which zones(s) are acceptable for this stay and what is your desired star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Heide Szeto
Desired star rating of 3 stars. It looks like Fenway area has the most reasonable rates? Link to comment
thereuare
See my recent reply to your Priceline Washington DC thread... You should include all zones that you think are acceptable for your needs, even if you believe they will be beyond your budget, as it will give you more bidding opportunities and able you to make your bids in smaller increments. Worst case scenario is that you're accepted in a zone that you would want but thought would be over your budget. Budge aside, which zones are acceptable? I will add that unless the purpose of this trip is to attend a lot of baseball games, Fenway is not the most convenient or centrally located... it would be better to focus your attention on the more 'core' downtown zones of Boston Common, Beacon Hill, Copley-Back Bay, and Downtown, imo. Heide Szeto
Eeeek, I do not plan to attend games. The zones that are acceptable to me would be the ones you listed: Beacon Hill Boston Comon Copely Square Downtown and I am guessing Cambridge East Charleston Fenway would be a backup (since they're PRICELINE EXPRESS deal is low at $124 which I assume is the Best Western University Hotel Boston/Brighton since it's the only one listed as 3.5 stars). thereuare
Unfortunately at current prices i don't think you have much of a chance of a 3* at $125 or less, but you can give it a try. HOWEVER, i will note that current PRICELINE EXPRESS rates are not a good back-up as that offer could disappear at any time... if you're looking to book a back-up use our sister site refudnable.rates. To try bidding for the zones mentioned: When bidding 3* in Boston you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 3* Beacon Hill, Boston Common, Copley, DT... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Heide Szeto
Just wanted to give an update on this: Ultimately, Boston's hotel budget was not enough to cover what I wanted for bidding or PRICELINE EXPRESS deals so I had to find an alternative method to finding a place. Thank you for the help! Link to comment
