  1. GREAT idea. I might see what the taxi fare is from the Hyatt Regency down there and if it's more than $6, I'll just hop on the cable car. Thanks.
  2. Started at $89 for Embarcadero. Gradually added USW, SOMA, USE up to $98, then did 3 rebid zones until I got this at $110. Retail price is $169, so not that great a deal, but it's fine. I was hoping for a hotel closer to Bart, but this one has good ratings. Funny I never noticed this hotel before. Should be interesting. Used the PRICELINE link here. Room Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $25.31 Total Charged to Card: $135.31
  3. Started at $75 with financial district, added SFO-Burlingame, USE, SOMA, then several rebid zones until I got to $90. I guess I'm happy. I've always wondered what the Marriott was like, and the rack rate is $249 for some reason. Seems a bit steep for December. And for the airport. With taxes, it's $111.90. Was hoping I'd get something cheaper, but oh well. It's a nice location on the water.
  4. Amenities: Smokefree, shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, internet, business, golf 2 adults, 2 kids 80% Hotwire rating; 3.5 Trip Advisor rating (Note: the TA rating doesn't always show up. It just happened to this time.) Booked a day in advance, for our last night before flying out. I figured this was either the Westin or the Hilton. Either would be fine, but I'm glad it was the Westin because it had a great pool for the kids and it was closest to the airport, across the street from a park where we could watch the planes land and take off. Westin wanted $30 extra for a bay view, so I declined. Most hotels (including Embassy Suites earlier in my trip) at least look to see what's available. (And I did get a nice view with Embassy Suites). $20 extra for parking, which I already knew. Used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link (I think. I had so many windows open, I'm not positive.)
  5. Amenities: Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Laundry, Internet Hotwire rating: 100%, Trip Advisor: 4.5, 2 adults, 2 kids I usually use Priceline in Sacramento Natomas--even with kids--and probably could've gotten a 2.5 or 3 for $50 or less, but I figured this was the Holiday Inn Express (based on the TA rating) and wanted to stay in that location (and also have 2 queen beds rather than 2 doubles, which I usually get with PL.) There were only 2 Natomas hotels with 4.5 TA ratings--the other is the Homewood Suites, which is right next door. I would've been fine with either. By the way, HI Express is considered 2.5 stars on Priceline's regular (non-opaque) site. Used the HOTWIRE link here. Thanks.
  6. Forgot to mention I used the HOTWIRE links here for both this and my previous win for the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero. Thanks Better Bidding for all your help!
  7. Amenities: Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business center, Internet, Golf Hotwire rating: 90%; no TA rating; 2 adults, 2 kids I had been watching Hotwire for awhile, and usually an $83 4* would come up which I think was either Westin or Hilton (rating of 80% and smoke-free icon). This one popped up once before, and I decided to go for it the second time it came up since I thought it might be the Embassy Suites. Glad I was right. I think my kids will like this (although the ratings are pretty mixed for grownups). By the way, when I searched SFO it came up as $89, but when I searched just plain San Francisco, it came up $2 less. No big difference, but interesting.
  8. Booked this a few weeks back. Amenities: Fitness, Restaurant, Biz Center, Internet; 95% Hotwire rating; 4 of 5 trip advisor. 2 adults, 2 children. I wanted to stay at the Hyatt because of the location, so I was 99% sure this was it.
  9. Prices had been high for awhile. Just yesterday I was ready to bid the same amount, but PL came back with "You have very little chance of your bid being accepted. Better chance: 34.95 a day." I didn't go through with the bid, especially since Hotwire had come down to 26.95 a day for a total of $300. This morning I noticed I had more bonus cash offers, so I decided to take another try. When I didn't get the warning message, I thought about lowering my bid, but $20 a day was what I planned to spend anyway. It was accepted. Offer Price Summary Bonus Cash Per Day: $2.63 (per day) Your Offer Price Per Day: $20.00 (per day) Total Offer Price with Bonus: $22.63 (per day) Total Charges to Your Credit Card Your Offer Price: $20.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 8 days(7 days and 15 hours) Subtotal: $160.00 Taxes and Fees: $79.65 Total Charges: $239.65 Lowest Published Price: $873.97 Total Savings:* $634.32 (You saved 73%)
  10. This is awesome. Thank you. Just booked Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in SF for $95 on Dec. 10, which seems to be the price others are getting for SF hotels bidding on Priceline. I specifically wanted the Hyatt for the location. By the way, the Hyatt site itself and Expedia show no vacancies at the Hyatt for that night. Odd.
  11. I stayed there last year at the same time. They have free WIFI in the lobby/cafe/bar area. I just went down there when I needed to use my computer. It's a nice enough hotel. And $70 is a great price.
  12. Started bidding at $50. Added Marina and bid $55. Added SFO-North and bid $58. Added SSF and bid $60. Success. With tax, it comes to $76.63. Used the BB link. I'm meeting friends Saturday a.m. in Fisherman's Wharf so I decided to stay here rather than my usual Embarcadero location for a solo trip. Not as convenient BART-wise, but it'll be nice to check it out and see if it's a place I'd want to stay with the family next summer.
  13. I used your link to win the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf for $60 on PRICELINE. I'll post the win over in that section. Thanks.
  14. This one is stumping me. I can't figure out which 3-star in the Embarcadero offers complimentary breakfast. Here's the info: Dates: Dec. 11-12. Price: $79. Amenities: Smoke free; complimentary breakfast; restaurant; business; internet. Trip Advisor rating: 4 out of 5. Any ideas? I'm probably going to try Priceline, but I am so curious as to what hotel this could be.
