Check-In Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2008 Check-Out Date: Sunday, October 12, 2008 Hotel Name: Four Points By Sheraton San Rafael 1010 Northgate Drive San Rafael, California 94903 415-479-8800 Your Offer Price: $75.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $300.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $46.17 Total Charges*: $346.17 POSSIBLE OVERBID ALERT: My memory is quite certain that I unsuccessfully bid up to $69 (for the same dates, stars, and location) a few days ago, but my Priceline emails only indicate that I bid up to $50, so I'm not positive. You've got a free rebid in Novato, so I don't recommend starting as high as $75. Rates on Sheraton 4 Points website are: $105 AARP $108 prepaid non-refundable $138 AAA (or $99 AAA rate if you choose "Promotions and Packages" instead of "Automobile Association") $145 regular "best rate" $250 if you don't check around for anything better. Kinda disappointed that my offer was accepted. I knew that if it was accepted, it would probably be this low-rated Four Points which is the only known result at Priceline. But my next step when Priceline rejected this offer was going to be to pay $86 for the 3-star on Hotwire which, although it would probably still be the Four Points, had historical precedent for being the Embassy Suites instead. I figured if it did turn out to be the Embassy Suites, I'd be doing the forum a favor by discovering whether this Embassy Suites was still using Hotwire (it's been over a year since anyone reported it) and whether they'd added "High Speed Internet" to their icons and hence were now indistinguishable from 4 Points. Plus I'd get a much yummier hotel. But I chickened out on taking the Hotwire offer before one last try on Priceline at a lower price, and I got the Priceline one. Anyway, since I travel to that area regularly, I'll be glad to finally see for myself what the 4 Points is like, with all its conflicting ratings on various sites. I used the PRICELINE link.
