ThatHappyGuy Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 A friend of mine wanted to stay in the midtown west/ time square area. I started with 4* hotels, but didn't get anything. I slightly downgraded to 3.5* and got the Millennium Broadway Hotel for $115. Not bad. :) I used the PRICELINE link. Thanks again.
thereuare Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Hope you (and your friend) are happy with the results and the deal received at this property... looks like a very nice rate!Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Hope s/he enjoys their stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Your timing was right, ThatHappyGuy. I just tried $115 for same date and zone and got rejected.$115 for 3.5* rejected in CPS, ESB, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS-TD.
ThatHappyGuy Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 I'm sorry to hear that Colfax. My strategy is to book really close to the desired date(s), sometimes even on that date AND a lot of luck. Some would say that's high risk, high reward.Best deal I had gotten so for off priceline was the Algonquin Hotel, for $80 before fees. Excellent for a 4* hotel.Good luck on your future bookings. :)
Colfax Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Oops!I was bidding for 4/13, ThatHappyGuy, not 4/12. I bid up to $140 for 3.5* in seven zones with no luck. Gave up on PRICELINE and bought the Buckingham on HOTWIRE for $139.I've had a lot of luck with last minute bidding in SF and LA, but not this time. Happy travels!
