Hmm...let's see if I remember how this went...

Bid $35 for 3* one night, 2/24/05, in Carlsbad area.

Rejected

Added Del Mar, still at 3* and went up to $40

Rejected

Stayed with Carlsbad and Del Mar, added 2.5* with price back down to $35;

Accepted and upgraded to 3* Hilton San Diego/Del May

Bid $35

Taxes/Fees $11.12

Total Charges: $46.12

I think that's how it went. Thanks for all the posts/advice...this is pretty much what I was looking for.

I'm wondering if you in fact added Del Mar when you bid 3* at $40, because you should have won at that point.

In any event, $35 is a great price for that hotel. Have a great stay!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Thank you for posting and sharing your win (and bidding history) with the rest of the board. As TravelGuy pointed out, DelMar was probably not the second zone you added, but whatever you did do... it worked!

Have a great stay.

Actually, that was what was strange about this particular round of bidding -- I've done Priceline before but this is my first time posting to the web site -- it was when I added 2.5* and went back down to $35 that the bid was accepted. Priceline said that my 2.5* bid was accepted but that I was being upgraded to 3*. As TravelGuy said, I should have won at $40 and 3*.

I've never seen this happen before but I'm please with the outcome.
