For 4 nights, with tax and fees = $217.16

I wanted the 4* in South Daytona (probably the Shores Resort and Spa), but after going from $45 to $57 still didn't give me a win, I decided to try for either a 3* in South Daytona Beach (probably the Acapulco) or a 4* in North Daytona Beach. (I'm not surprised I couldn't get the Shores for <$60 as it is retailing now at about $212, but I had to try.)

I tried the 3* in South Daytona Beach first, because the quiet of the south end is worth going down from a 4* to a 3* to me. $49 wasn't accepted, and Priceline suggested I rebid at $63. I was pretty sure I could get the 4* on North Daytona for around $45, and I doubted the quiet was worth both a lower star rating AND more than $15 a night.

I bid for a 4* on North Daytona at $45 and then rebid (adding Palm Beach which doesn't have 4*) at $46 to win.

Not bad at all for Easter Weekend when demand is high.
