Priceline Hotel: Charleston - 4* - 4/9-11

With only one 'known' 4* hotel in this zone, and rates for that hotel starting for $379 for these nites above, your maximum bid is still less than half of the prevailing rate.

As well, apparently there is some event happening in town for these nites, inflating rates. With strong demand, hotels believe they have a good chance to sell rooms themselves (at full price) and therefore may not offer rooms to the opaque providers, or may only offer a very slight discount.

Do you know what event is driving up hotel rates? What would be your maximum bid for this stay?

Do you have a back-up plan? At what point would you lower your star rating?

You have already been rejected at prices above $150, and while price can drop between now and your stay, i would think odds favor them not dropping as low as you'd like (if they drop at all)

Those rates mean that the hotels are likely pretty booked for those dates. It's hard to save money via PRICELINE for those types of dates.

I always the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links from this board for my purchase!
