martyYYZ1 Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 I am looking at a 3* in San Francisco (Airport South - Burlingame) with the following amenities:Shuttle,Complimentary Breakfast,Fitness Center,Pool,Restaurant,Business CenterRecommended in 55% of customer reviewers 500+ total reviewsI was thinking Holiday Inn Express but it has nowhere near 500 reviews and the amenities don't exactly matchany ideas?
martyYYZ1 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 What dates, martyYYZ1?May 5 overall satisfaction 3.5price $49
Colfax Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 My best guess is this is the Clarion, with the Continental Breakfast icon added since its last report. The Hotwire listing shows a TripAdvisor rating of 3/5 and that's consistent with Clarion. HIE is 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor. (The "Overall Satisfaction Rating" of 3.5 that you saw is a Hotwire rating, not a TripAdvisor rating.)If you purchase please use this HOTWIRE link and let us know what your get.
martyYYZ1 Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 Thanks, I called the hotel and they do have breakfast so I think your guess is correct. However, Hotwire say 500+ reviews but tripadvisor only has 96 reviews for this hotel. Is this typical?
thereuare Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 It's possible as the number of reviews are entirely independent of each other (although it does seem like a fairly wide margin). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 However, Hotwire say 500+ reviews but tripadvisor only has 96 reviews for this hotel. Is this typical?Sometimes Hotwire displays the number of TripAdvisor reviews; sometimes they display the number of Hotwire reviews. And sometimes they show neither. In this case "500+" is talking about Hotwire reviews, not TA reviews. If the hotel has 500+ reviews on Hotwire but only 96 reviews on TripAdvisor that says to me the hotel does a LOT of Hotwire business.
