AaronJB Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The 4* Downtown/HI would possibly be the Grand Hyatt or Westin. The 4* Gaslamp could possibly be the Westin Gaslamp, Solamar or Indigo. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Punky Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 Need help IDing 3.5 * San Diego Downtown and Harbor Is. $79Shows : Shuttle Fitness Swim pool Restaurant Business Internet75% recommended, Could this be Sheraton Suites? Anything else?

Punky Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 I didn't get the 4* DT because the next day it had disappeared from HOTWIRE.You snooze , you lose. Punky. Still looking, but I have a backup hotel, that I can cancel. And I was afraid that I'd get the Indigo, so didn't opt for Gaslamp.
Punky Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Date 4/9/10 one night before cruise. Sheraton Suites is really Gaslamp, yes or no? Punky
thereuare Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I believe the Sheraton Suites is considered to be in the Gaslamp District, but i don't believe that is the 3.5* hotel you're seeing above, as the amenities don't match previous reports for that property (nor do i see anything which suggests they offer shuttle service, which is one of the icons shown above)No evidence that this property has been upgraded, but my guess for the 3.5* HOTWIRE property above would the Doubletree, upgraded from the previously reported 3.5* level. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Punky Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Thanks, I noted that the HOTWIRE offerings have changed somewhat from yesterday. I noticed that some hotels disappeared and some prices went up for what looks like same hotels. Does it change daily? And yes I will use your HOTWIRE or PRICELINE sites to buy or bid. Thanks for all the help....Punky
thereuare Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone... the hotel at each star level in each zone with the lowest price is the one which is offered. Hotels change their rates for dates all the time based upon how their own reservations/cancellations are coming in relative to expectations... and the hotels offered by HOTWIRE change accordingly as well, showing users the least expensive hotel for their dates based upon the updated information loaded by the hotels. Thanks in advance for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Punky Posted April 21, 2010 Author Report Posted April 21, 2010 My friend had booked the Comfort inn Old town with free points- that was the backup. I wish that I had booked something else because we did stay there and it was terrible, right by the interstate, heard traffic all night. I suppose that this thread can be closed. Thanks for all the help. Next time I'll stay in Gaslamp or Downtown.
AaronJB Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Thank you for closing the thread, but sorry to hear that your stay didn't go well.
