IBDP Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I spent over an hour trying to get a hotel in ESB and Chelsea areas for my son, who is 25 and is working for our company temporarily. I thought he should stay in an unusual hotel, so I bid up to $160.00 for ESB 4 and 3.5 * hotels, with no luck. I had done my homework and knew that $105.00 was a going rate for the Hyatt, so finally gave up the other stuff, bid $105.00 in MTE and sure enough, won the Hyatt. A good hotel in a good location at a great price.I of course went through the PRICELINE link at betterbidding as always.Regards,Donna
AaronJB Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)Awesome deal for this property, especially as I'm seeing it on more than one service (including the hotel's website) as sold out for part of this period. When I search for 3/11-14, the first night is $339 and the other two nights are $299, so this is a pretty astonishing discount.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Some cheap/inexpensive suggestions your son might like a short walk from this hotel:Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) - great bagels makes for an inexpensive breakfastJackson Hole (Third Ave at 35th St) - HUGE, and juicy, burgersEl Rio Grande (Third Ave at 37th St) - expensive (~$10) frozen margaritas but all you usually need is one :) Good chips and salsa too! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
IBDP Posted March 11, 2010 Author Report Posted March 11, 2010 Thanks for the tips. I will let him know; inexpensive is good since the company is paying the billRegards,Donna
