Tried from $49 to $57 first day -- all failed.

Tried the next day from $49 to $69 -- all failed.

Today started bidding at $49 again and when it hit $63 won the bid.

Used rebidding by adding non 4* zones.

Was hoping to get the $52 price obtained by two previous posters for Portland, but it just wasn't meant to be. Still, this is an excellent price for this hotel. I do believe it may be tied to the fact that I was looking for three rooms for two nights. That is a lot different than one room for one night.

While the number of rooms/nites may have been a factor, the most frequent explanation is that rates or hotel occupancy is higher for these nites then when the $52/nite rates were won. Either way, as you point out, and excellent deal for this stay.
