We've seen bids in the $30's accepted on dates other than weekends, so i don't think that is it (as well as see weekend bids rejected in the $30's).... i always claim it boils down to supply and demand i assume this property is no different.

Did you make the $38 and $48 bids on the same day? (i know there are no re-bid zones, but perhaps you lowered your star quality and were upgraded or had your friend/family member bid?)
