willow58 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 It is our daughter's 21st birthday and I am looking for a 4 star in Hollywood. I also have a 10 year old so we need a room where all 4 of us can stay together.Should I book on HOTWIRE because I can choose the number of adults and children in one room? Is there a way to book on priceline to achieve this?Dates are February 26 to March 01 2010.Thanks in advance.
AaronJB Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding! :)There is no way to guarantee quad/4 occupancy via PRICELINE, so I would suggest HOTWIRE instead. What would be your desired budget per night? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
willow58 Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 We would like to spend about 150.00 night
thereuare Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 HOTWIRE uses a "Hollywood" zone and a "Beverley Hills-West Hollywood" zone... does one of these work better for your plans or are both acceptable? If you search HOTWIRE for 3adults/1child do you see anything offered within your budget? Colfax Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 HOTWIRE has what looks like the W.Nonsmoking, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Highspeed, SpaChecking 2/0, guaranteeing one bed, it's $188.Checking 2/2, guaranteeing two beds, it's $212.W charges more for two beds on conventional bookings too. For your dates is $289 for 1 bed, $309 for 2.Priceline usually beats HOTWIRE on price and there's a good chance you could win a 4* on PRICELINE for under $130, but without the two bed guarantee. If you win W they might be willing to upgrade you to two beds for another $20 or so, but you can't count on it. So far nobody's posted here that they requested two beds at W, or what the hotel's response was.Would you pay $212 for two beds at W?Prices are lower in Hotwire's Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone. You can get a 4* for $139 there, or a 3.5* for $114--both with two bed guarantee.
willow58 Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 I am getting a 4 star beverly hills west hollywood with tennis, golf, fitness, pool, business center, high speed, restaurant on HOTWIRE for my dates at 142.00 2 adulst 2 child.Any idea what this is?
thereuare Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Best guess is that this is the Hilton Beverly Hills wiith a new Hi-Speed Internet icon since last reported to the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. willow58 Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 Do you think it might be the Montrose? The Beverly Hilton looks good though too.
thereuare Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 It could be the Montrose, but since my last post, this Hotwire Los Angeles thread reported that the Hilton is now including a Hi-Speed Internet icon in its description, so that would still be my best guess. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. jessgirl1010 Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 I got the W for $122 on priceline for this weekend. The first time i called to request beds, the girl i spoke to had no idea what was going on and said i needed to call priceline to request that and i said i wish thats how it worked:), she then put me on hold multiple times so i hung up. However, i tried a week later, just a few days ago and got the nicest girl. She saw i was a starwood member which i just signed up for when i reserved rooms at the W for $165 in march. And upgraded our rooms to 2 queens with a nice view. I dont know if it depends how full they are. It is nice to know they will work with you if you get the right person. I dont know if that helps! Good luck!
willow58 Posted February 20, 2010 Author Report Posted February 20, 2010 We booked the Beverly Hills Hilton for $138.00 2 Adults and 2 Children. Ended up using HOTWIRE and your link. We were nervous about the bed situation through PRICELINE.Thanks to Jessgirl1010 for the advice on the the W though. I considered booking through PRICELINE as I am a starwood member also. The W was quoting 220.00 for my dates. A bit too steep considering the bed issue might be a problem. We are very happy with the Beverly Hills Hilton. We are trying to book a midsize SUV on priceline but keep getting rejected. We are at 21.00 today. Will keep on trying. I used your link for cars and saw that Fox has a midsize SUV for 28.00 but I have not seen very many good reviews on their customer service. Thanks for your help. This is a great service.
