Hotwire Hotel: 4* Edmonton (Downtown) Westin

After having some Priceline bids for a 4* room in Edmonton Downtown, South and West rejected at $70, $72, $74, $76 and $78, I tried Hotwire and I was pleased to see a 4* room come up for $85.

The amenities were listed as:

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

Lo and behold, it's the Westin. This represents about a US$35/night savings off the lowest published rate, so not bad. I also have the $20 rebate form that comes in the Entertainment Book, so we'll see if I can get the price knocked down a bit that way as well.

I'm pleased with this deal. It is more than I'm used to paying, but Edmonton seems to have really high room rates across the board.

I guess I did pretty good then getting the Westin for $65 (PRICELINE) for Easter weekend! Just be aware that they charge $26-28 for parking which is annoying after getting a good deal on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Apparently there is a city parking garage (underground) across the street at the library and it is a cheaper option. Free parking on holidays so I'm going to try that and hopefully save some cash there.
