tx2fl Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I have bid this hotel in the resort category in the past but now I only see 3 star as the highest category in Stuart. I am looking at 5/21 - 5/23 and would like to pay no more than $85 per night. Any suggestions? Thanks!
dahammer Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Please post a follow up to your Priceline Fort Lauderdale topic, letting the board know what your ultimately did with this trip, and then reply to this thread and we'll comment regarding the above. Also, if you have winning bid information for your previous Marriott stay in Stuart, that would help as well.thanks!
tx2fl Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 I updated the previous thread as requested. Previously, we were successful at the Marriott Hutchinson Island at $88 per night. The dates were July 2 - 5, 2009. At the time, the hotel was listed in the Resort category.
thereuare Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 The Marriott is now 3* rated by PRICELINE (and a reminder that you're bidding on a 3* hotel in this zone... not the Marriott you previously received)With time on your side i would bid as follows...At the 3* level in Stuart FL you have TWO re-bid zones. Priceline Re-Bidding Explained(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3* Stuart...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $45, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Stuart and re-bid zone2...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55If the above is rejected i'd try again after 24 hours:Select 3* Stuart...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Stuart and re-bid zone2...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $75Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. tx2fl Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Thank you! Now that it is a 3*, I am assuming that there are other 3* hotels in the area that could accept my bid??Thanks
AaronJB Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 There is always the possibility that there could be another property at the same star rating in any area. If the Betterbidding Priceline list has only one reported hotel at a certain star rating, there could be others that have not yet been reported to the board and new hotels can start showing up on the service at any time. Additionally, there is the possibility that a 3* bid can be "upgraded" to 3.5*.
thereuare Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 The Courtyard has also been reported in this zone at the 3* level, so that is at least one other possibility. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
