CLE Mom Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 We are traveling through PA on Friday, February 12 and plan to stop in Danville for the evening. On regular Priceline there are 4 hotels listed as 2* Quality Inn @ $79/nightBest Western @ $99/nightRed Roof Inn @ $49/nightHampton Inn @ $129/nightI did not find any posts about wins in this area. Any suggestions on how to bid? I am ok with any of these properties (would rather not stay at the Red Roof) but don't know where to start. Thanks for your help
dahammer Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 this is an example of a small market that may not offer much of a discount through PRICELINE and with the Red Roof Inn in the mix, it makes it even more difficult to bid. I might just look for a "Roomsaver" coupon book at a rest stop.
thereuare Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 You can't use the "retail" section of PRICELINE to determine what hotels are availale when bidding on the "opaque" side of PRICELINE... the two sides of their service each use a different universe of hotels. The Red Roof Inn is rated 2* by PRICELINE, so this would still be a possible outcome.Do you still want to try bidding for this stay or is this a 'dealbreaker'? If you still want to proceed, what is your maximum bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
