goingtolondon Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Kennsington - Chelsea - Knightsbridge zone, ammenities, restaurant, laundry and business centre. Rate $87 per night for 3/26 - 3/29.Any suggestions which hotel this is? I have looked at the hotel list and none of these match the hotel's description since the ammenities are different than both 2.5 star hotels in this zone listed on the list of hotels on this website.Any advice will be appreciated.Thank.

goingtolondon Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 My apologies, I didn't realize I hadn't posted enough information on the other thread. I have posted more information about the booking I made with Hotwire on that thread.
thereuare Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I'm not seeing the 2.5* property above when searching HOTWIRE for 3/26-3/29, 1room/2adults... are you still seeing this property offered on your own HOTWIRE search? What is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes and fees) for this leg of your stay? Are tehre any other zone(s) you're willing to accept? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. goingtolondon Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks for the reply.I did a search for hotels in Kensington - Chelsea - Knightsbridge, the 2 and a half star hotel is not coming up for 3/26 - 3/29. It was coming up yesterday for $87. I tried to search just one of the three nights I need, for 3/26 I am not getting the following hotels in Kensington - Chelsea - Knightsbridge:4 star, $129 ammenities:- fitness centre, resaurant, business centre, room have high speed internet access.3 and a half star, $99, ammenities:- fitness centre, resaurant, business centre, room have high speed internet access.3 star, ammenities:- business centre.I don't mind moving to another hotel for the 3 nights I need, but I need a hotel that will store my baggage on the day I leave London (3/29), and I would like a hotel that it is located near public transport (Underground station) and from where I can travel to Heathrow airport using the Underground. I am looking for a hotel that costs $79 or less plus tax per night. I am considering the Ealing - Hammersmith - Brentford zone, because of pirce, but I'm not certain this would be a good choice (areawise). THe hotels available in this zone for 3/26 - 3/29 are:-3 and a half star, $59, ammenities, restaurant, fitness centre, internet access.4 star, $79, ammenities, restaurant, fitness centre, internet access.3 star, $79, ammenenties, restaurant, internet access.Of course, I can try priceline too, not sure how to go about this properly.
thereuare Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I need a hotel that will store my baggage on the day I leave London (3/29)You're not going to be able to guarantee this thru either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, and at least here in the US, fewer and fewer hotels are offering this service. With PRICELINE there is no way to target a hotel that offers this service, with HOTWIRE you can take an educated guess as to the hotel you may receive, but would you have a back-up plan for your bag(s) should your guess at the hotel be wrong? How long wil you be out of town (ie- how long do you need the hotel to hold your bags?) Will you be returning to the city upon your return to London or will you be flying back out upon your return? Have you looked into seeing if there is an area of Heathrow which will hold your bags while you're out of the area? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. goingtolondon Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 I need to clarify, I only need to leave my luggage at the hotel the day I check out, my flight departs from Heathrow late at 10 pm, so I was going to check out, leave the luggage at left luggage at the hotel, and then come back to the hotel, collect my bags and then go to the airport.
thereuare Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Oh, that's not as much of a big deal... i though you wanted to leave some luggage at the hotel while you left the coutry for a few days.As the chances of landing the Express Holiday Inn Earls Court appear to be slim, what is your next priority? Is it location, price or having a guess of the hotel you may receive? If you enter "London" (without the quotes) into the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the board you'll see all related threads, which might give some insight as to zones with the lower priced hotels. goingtolondon Posted February 12, 2010 Author Report Posted February 12, 2010 Thank you for your help, thereuare. I will book something on Orbitz since I am running out of time to organize things, London is my last stop in Europe, and I really don't want to leave home without all my accomodation booked.
Romelle Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Hope you've noticed the link to Orbitz from this site? Under the Support/Travel Links above. Also, if you search on "Orbitz promo", there are a bunch of possibilities out there. One of them might work and save you a couple $$s.Romelle
