Jamerinadians Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I'm looking at the following for Dec 10-12, 2010: 3 1/2 star, $95 per night. Amenities are Suite/Shuttle/Smoke-Free/Fitness/Pool/Restaurant/Business/Hi-Speed Internet. I'm guessing this is the Sheraton Suites. Here's my question. In looking at the Sheraton website for the same dates, they have lots of room options. Some are labeled "suites" and have a sleeper-sofa in addition to a variety of bedding options, and a separate living area. Others are labeled "double rooms" which do not indicate a sleeper-sofa or a separate living area. The bedding isn't critical to me, but the separate living area and sleeper-sofa are. If Hotwire is showing it as a suite, will I be certain of getting one of the suite configurations? The double room would not work for me. If I can't be certain of getting a suite, I'll need to book elsewhere. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
thereuare Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't have firsthand experience at this property, but as the name implies, i believe all rooms at this property are suites (and on their website they state "...our newly renovated 2 rooms suites...". As well, even for the rooms which don't list "living area' under Room Features, if you click Terms and Details, on the next page it listed "Separate Area" under Room Description. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searhes too!Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 here is HOTWIRE's definition of a suite:A guestroom designed for an extended stay and/or that more spacious than the average hotel room. Suites typically offer residential-style furnishings, as well as separate living and sleeping areas; some also offer kitchenettesI believe this property was built as a Guest Quarter's Suites hotel years ago, the rooms were set up like an Embassy Suites with a living room and bedroom seperated by a door. If you were to get this property through HOTWIRE and not receive a room that fit the description above, you would have a legitimate beef with HOTWIRE.I would call the hotel and confirm that all rooms are suites.
Jamerinadians Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give the hotel a call and see what they say.I will post again when I make a decision.
Jamerinadians Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 Just a followup for your info... I did not book this hotel via HOTWIRE. I found a better deal direct with Sheraton, using their "pay your birth year" special. Ended up booking 3 nights 12/10-12/13. First night $109, second and third nights $58. Cheaper than HOTWIRE and fully cancelable up till 24 hours before checkin. And I got to choose the bedding I wanted. Thanks for your help. Will continue to frequent your site and click through your links.
