Bob Loblaw Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 I am going to start bidding on a hotel for Philly for May 22-24. I was looking at the 4* and had a question. The 4* that seems to be getting won lately is the Hyatt Bellevue. I don't really want this hotel......and if you go on Priceline Philadelphia hotels (not name your own price) then it is not coming up as an option. I know Priceline mentions something about "the hotel you get may be one which was not listed on the previous page." Is this true, are some of the hotels only available through "Name your own price?" I like the 3.5* hotels too but don't really want Club Quarters...any suggestions? I'd like to secure Hyatt Penns Landing, Loews, Radisson Warwick or Crowne Plaza. In the past I have managed to get the Radisson and Crowne for the 40-60$ range.
AaronJB Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 There's no way to avoid a particular property when bidding through PRICELINE. I'd suggest instead seeing what HOTWIRE has available; while the cost will likely be somewhat higher than a comparable on PRICELINE, at least there's the ability to make a guess as to what may be showing. Some hotels on the retail side of PRICELINE are not available on the bidding side, but again, there is no way to avoid a property when bidding. Please let us know if you have any questions. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
