Looking for one person, one night 4/19 - 4/20. Price is $54.

Icons are: shuttle, fitness, business, laundry, internet.

Recommended by 70% of travelers.

I thought this might be the Holiday Inn (which I don't want), but it is not showing a restaurant or a pool icon, as might be expected. Also - HI does not get very good reviews. Any ideas out there?

Thanks for your help.

Weird new update. Later the same day, looks like same hotel, now has 90% recommended rate.

Is it the same hotel? Sure doesn't sound like HI, which gets panned regularly on TA .....

I'm still seeing 70% recommended and 400+ reviews for this offering on my own HOTWIRE search.

Are you still/now seeing a 90% recommended rate?

EDIT TO ADD: if i change the search to 2adults/2children in see the 90% recommended wtih 20+ reviews... i'm assuming a different hotel

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Now showing 70% for 2, 3 or 4 people. Also showing restaurant icon.

Seems like it is now the Holiday Inn, though I have no idea what it was before.

Wouldn't mind figuring it out if it shows up again, but no hurry.

Thanks.

I take it back. On the 3*, when I select 2 adults, 2 kids, restaurant icon disappears and 90% recommended shows up.

A side note - for about a minute, I saw a 3.5* with shut, pool, bfst, biz, int and kitchenette. Checked and was excited that it was probably Embassy Suites. Read my son a story, went back to book it and it was gone!! Darn it.

Searching 2/0 now I get a 3* with 90% positive and 20+ reviews.

The only match I find for those stats is the Inn at Oyster Point, but IOP's website doesn't mention a Fitness Center, which is one of the HOTWIRE icons.

So I'm stumped.

Well, the questions have been answered. The mystery is solved. And quite frankly, I'm delighted!!

After bidding PL up to $64 or so for 4* and 3.5* and getting nowhere, the 90% approval rate on this listing kept calling to me. Since I had another Entertainment HOTWIRE coupon, I bit. It turned out to be the Holiday Inn Express SFO North.

This hotel is fairly new and has more amenities than were listed, including complimentary breakfast, shuttle to BART (not just the airport), cookies & coffee in the lobby, a whirlpool in the fitness room and so on. They even have WiFi on the shuttle bus!

Not sure why they hid icons like breakfast. I can only guess they didn't want to stack the deck and take business from the HI-SFO, which doesn't rate very well.

Icons were shuttle, fitness, business, laundry, internet. Price was $58, with a rack rate of about $105. It's rare, but for this one, HW beat PRICELINE for me. As always, used BB HOTWIRE link. Thanks, guys!

I'm look for the same category in 3* N. SFO Intl Airport - Oyster Point Hotel for Mar. 12 - Mar. 16 for 2 adults & 2 kids - I got the offer of $57.00. It also displays only shuttle, fitness, business, laundry, internet (but NO breakfast - Which is what I prefer for my 2 travelling kids).

- Please advise if it is the SAME Holiday Inn Express that you book? (with also breakfast)

- Is there additional PARKING fee and INTERNET fee with this Holiday Inn Express?

Many thanks,

The hotel that I booked had the same icons and had a 90% recommendation rating. It was the HIE SFO-North, breakfast is included (though the icon was not shown), and I believe parking and WiFi are free. Check the hotel website to be sure.

The listing now seems to be saying "gathering reviews" and not showing 90%. I think - but can not guarantee - that it is the same hotel. If the listing says 70% approval rating, that will probably be the HI-SFO, which I did not want. (And you probably don't either.)

I think what's happening is that the corporate parent is alternating the same listing for their two properties. When it shows 70%, it's the HI. When it doesn't, it's the HIE.

When you change the number of guests, it seems to alternate somewhat regularly. In your case, try switching the numbers (2&2, 2&1, 1&2 etc) and see what happens. I wouldn't go below 3 guests, though, since you will need two beds.

If you're still interested in the Embassy Suites listing, you may be able to find street parking nearby. The extra room and manager's reception would be nice for four of you.

Good luck.

Well I just learned something.

Hotwire is still displaying the same hotel with 90% positive and 20+ reviews. But on TripAdvisor, which is what I was checking to ID the hotel, the Holiday Inn Express is only 78% positive, not 90%. And it has 62 reviews, which Hotwire would call 60+, not 20+.

When I click the "What's this?" link next to the review numbers it says:

Overall satisfaction is the average of all the ratings as reviewed by Hotwire customers, people like you, who stayed at this property.

So Hotwire is using Hotwire stats now, not TripAdvisor stats, which is why I couldn't figure it out from TripAdvisor.

Are Hotwire reviews displayed alongside the hotel's name anywhere, so that a person can use them to figure out a hotel's ID? I don't know where.

Hi, I took risk and booked 3* HOTWIRE offer, and as you suspected, it was actually HI that is pretty nearby HIE.

We have to accept what we book. But for our mental preparation, please advise what make you "do not want" about HI? (besides NO breakfast)

Thanks,
