Separate Bids for Consecutive Nights

Recently I won a bid for the Westin San Diego. I am staying for four nights. Because my initial bid was rejected, I broke my stay into a three nights stay (a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night), followed by a one night stay (the Saturday night of that same week) and put in another bid for a few more dollars. This time it was accepted and I was assigned to the Westin for both the three night stay and the one night stay.

For people who have done this, did you get to stay in the same room for the entire stay, or did you have to check out and change to a new room?

Thanks

I have done this before and have never had to change rooms. In one situation I hand to go to the front desk and check out and then check back in (Hyatt) and at another hotel they were able to link the reservations and I never had to check out until my departure date (Marriott).

You pay a premium for breaking the stay up into two reservations - PRICELINE take a bit of both reservation + taxes vs one fee if you do it in one reservation.

Good to know; will keep that in mind for next time.
