Priceline Hotel: Need a strategy for bidding 5* Strip

I noticed below that some bids had been rejected for similar dates about a week ago.

This property came up on Hotwire 5* for $190/nt. Through travelaxe.com, I was able to match the $190 /nt rate.

Venetian's own site showed $259 I think. Vegas.com showed $224.

Bellagio was $227 on vegas.com and $190 through travelaxe.

Considering Luxor (found for about $133/nt incl. all taxes/fees through hotelclub.com, found again, through travelaxe) as a cancellable back up though does have a $15 cancellation fee.

Maximum cost for hotel over 4 nts not more than about $550, so no more than about a $120 PL bid. Is it possible? Strategy? Other properties to consider? :)

You are looking for a weekend. Rates are generally higher on weekends than weekdays. But, there are no super big conventions in town then. The biggest is a 20,000 person.

Some bidding advice is posted in

Take a look. That specific advice is for a weekday period, so you might need to adjust your price some.

Yes, I don't think that'd be a problem. However, we may not be going until May now Husband is on 6 months probation at new job which ends April 30, and is not sure about requesting vacation prior to that time to celebrate our anniversary!

Thanks. Will attempt to determine new dates or if we are going these dates. Will also check HW for split dates.
