Priceline Hotel: Rockville Centre - Freeport Hotel Help

Okay, I'm spending 1 night in Long Island for a family function. We will not have a car and the party is in rockville centre. There's only 2hotels listed in the 2* area. Best Western & Hampton Inn. Has anyone got these or are there other ones not listed? I only ask b/c they are both in the perfect area and I'd hate for priceilne to pick up some random hotel in freeport that I have to take.. At the same token, I do not want to spend $150-$200 for a 2* hotel!!

My family would need 2-3 rooms 4/22-4/25,

I would need 1 room from 4/23-4/24..

So I don't even know if I can book that with priceline since my stay is different.. Perhaps if I call?

Hotwire had 2 hotels listed too, but I do not know which ones they are...?

Basically I'm really confused. Any help or suggestions?

Where are you seeing these two hotels... thru PRICELINE's retail offerings? If so, see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ regarding using the retail version of PRICELINE to determine what you will receive thru the 'name your own price' section of their website.

No, i don't think calling will help at all. You would nee to make separate purchases for each stay which has different check-in/check-out dates... and no guarnatee that you'll receive the same hotel, or same price, for each.

I believe this is a difficult zone to bid successfully because there is not a lot of competition among hotels. There seems to be just a couple of chain hotels yet numerous "Motel" type properties. If you had a car, you might consider the JFK Airport zone that offers more hotels and typically lower accepted bids compared to Rockville Centre.

In addition, as you get closer to your dates of travel, you may want to consider HOTWIRE.

Thanks Dahammer. I'm trying to talk the family into that. We don't have a car, but our family lives there and can pick us up from a JFK hotel if needed. I may just get them 2 rooms and crash with them for 1 night since I can't really add a room for one of the nights for myself...

Wanted to note we did not go the priceline/hotwire route as we needed to be sure to stay at the same hotel. That said, we booked with Rockville Center Inn. $140 includes breakfast and free airport shuttle.
