First time using Priceline, just wondering how my bids should be changed from normal if I'm trying to book a room for New Years Eve.

FYI, I'm looking for a place in Civic Center region on 12/31/09-1/1/10. I'm a poor student, so I'd probably take anything 2* and up. What should my bids look like?

HOTWIRE has very limited inventory on New Years Eve and what's there is expensive.

I'll suggest an opening bid of $40 for 2* in Civic Center zone, though I suspect that won't be enough.
