Bonwah Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Was looking at HOTWIRE in Union Square East for $84/night -- which is a good price -- but decided to try PRICELINE instead, prompted by the prices on this board. My first bid for $66 was accepted by the Grand Hyatt, which is the hotel I was hoping for. Dig the Hyatts. Thanks, BetterBidding!
AaronJB Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Congratulations on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding! :)Certainly a wonderful rate for this GH property! Glad you are pleased with the results.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.Enjoy your stay.
zzdocxx Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Great and thanks for the info!I will be taking a short trip up that way, but may wait for the incoming storm to clear.
Bonwah Posted December 7, 2009 Author Report Posted December 7, 2009 I did use the BB link yesterday. :-)I checked in early (about 12:30 pm) and the staff was very gracious. The lobby was packed and I heard the word "priceline" mentioned in passing, so perhaps I'm not the only user here. It's a fantastic location -- a block from Union Square and the entrance to Chinatown is a block the other way. My room is very comfortable. I'd call the hotel a teensy bit worn; it looks a bit 1970s in architectural style, the carpet is a little frayed near the window, etc. But overall it's quite nice and the price is obviously fabulous. Definitely recommended.
AaronJB Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Glad you are pleased with the hotel. :)
