A Hotwire 2* is usually something basic like a Super 8, DaysInn, or EconoLodge. There aren't a lot of 2* brands in San Rafael but there is a Travelodge, so that would be my first guess.

The HOTWIRE listing is $46/night and the Travelodge is only $47.20 booked at the Travelodge website. After HOTWIRE fee a direct booking would probably cost less...if this is the Travelodge.
