cohere Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Hi, my wife and I are looking for a economy choose(2* to 3*)in the CPS, ME,MW from Dec.7 to 11. But our budget is just around 120 per night. It seemed that very little chance even to 1* hotel. Need advice for any area else in New York or Jersey we can get easy access to the Manhattan. We don't have car so it's highly appreciate for the good public transportation available. Thanks in advance!
AaronJB Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)Is your budget $120 "all-in" (including tax and fees) or $120 w/tax and fees included? Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links when you are ready to book.
cohere Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 Yes, it's all-in. Normally I found tax fee is around $20-25......I'd like to get most from my money. Actually I tried to bid one star hotel today in the midtown east and west and CPS with $135 today. It was rejected! I found that in Jersey city there reported some successful records of 4 star Westin with the reasonable price 100-115 these days. Shall I need try this or just focus on the NYC? What's your recommendation on that area?
dahammer Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 you may want to check out the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, you will see two winning 4* bids in the Jersey City area for $110-115. Consider yourself fortunate that your bid for a 1* was not accepted in NY, you could have ended up in a real dump. It is not advisable to bid at a 2* or below in Manhattan.
