thebalrog Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Hi everyone,i was looking to stay in SFO sunnyvale/san jose area - preferably in the marriott residence inns. The dates of my stay are: nov 25-nov 29 2009.Since these particular hotels are rated around 3* and there are other 3* hotels in the same area that offer lower nightly rates, I was wondering if there is a technique to bid for marriott residence inns without risking to get accepted by another 3* ?I am ok with any marriott residence inn anywhere in the bay area actually (sunnyvale/san jose/palo alto/campbell etc)any tips/suggestions will be very helpful and much appreciated!thank you all!
thereuare Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! There is no way to bid and target a particular hotel in the area. If you are trying to target/avoid a specific property, HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can sometimes take an educated guess as to the property you may receive based upon the amenities shown before your purchase. Try searching the area(s) that you're willing to stay and see if anything matches up with the Hotwire Hotel List and what has been reported to be associated with a Residence Innn property. If you find anything that matches let us know and we'll try to confirm for you to make sure that we agree. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Colfax Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 If East Bay will work for you the Residence Inns in Pleasanton and Newark are $79 for your dates.

thebalrog Posted November 1, 2009 Author Report Posted November 1, 2009 Thanks thereuare. I couldnt find residence inn properties in the hotwire list.Just a general question though. In your experience, if there are multiple properties in a particular star rating, is it true that the bid is likely to be accepted by the hotel which also has a lower nightly rate? or is it random?thanks!
thereuare Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 You shouldn't expect the hotel with the lowest retail rate to be the one which accepts your bid. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
