I first tried bidding for hotels in the Brookline, Copley, and Quincy Market area. I started at 4*, then 3 1/2* and then 3*. I ended up getting the 3* Courtyard By Marriott Boston Downtown/Tremont for 1 night at $82, which comes out to a little bit over $100 for the night. The reviews are mixed, but I think the location should be pretty convenient for getting around.
