jonmar Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Hotwire is showing a 4 star in Toronto Downtown West for tomorrow night the 5th, for $89. The amenities are: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, and Internet. It's point of interest is Kensington market. I am looking for a smoking room and am hoping this is the Hyatt. I know priceline currently shows the Hyatt as available for tomorrow, and they rate it is a 3.5 star. Am I better off bidding on Priceline for the 3.5 star, which could turn into the Delta Chelsea (non smoking), or taking a shot with Hotwire?
AaronJB Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 The Hilton, Hyatt and Sheraton have been seen with this amenity set, and without a tripadvisor rating, there is no way to further narrow that down. There is no way to guarantee getting a particular hotel on either service. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
jonmar Posted October 4, 2009 Author Report Posted October 4, 2009 Have they stopped using tripadvisor ratings? I don't see one when I check the hotel.
AaronJB Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Some listings do still show tripadvisor ratings, but some listings do not.
jonmar Posted October 4, 2009 Author Report Posted October 4, 2009 Given there is not a 'non smoking' amenity, do we think it is likely the Hyatt or Hilton? Does the Sheraton sell rooms without that symbol/amenity noted? Also where on the hotwire site do you see hotwire's hotel ratings (%)? I haven't seen any yet.
thereuare Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 The Sheraton has been seen both with and without a Smoke Free icon, so there is no tellling if the hotel above will result in a smoke free property or not.... althought a current HOTWIRE search for your dates shows a 4* hotel in this zone with a Smoke Free icon. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. jonmar Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 It ended up being the Sheraton Centre. I must have had the worst room in the place. It was in the old portion of the hotel on the main floor, walkout to some eerie walkway behind the pool.
