bailey Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 New to this forum.Once a bid has been rejected and have tried rebid options ( choosing different zones etc.), you are left waiting 24 hrs.My question is this:When you rebid, can you bid for the same price or even lower, or does PRICELINE recognize your previous bid ( even if it's outside the 24 hr. band) and disallow you from bidding the same or lower. Thanks
thereuare Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 After the 24 hour lock-out period your bid is trated as a completely new bid and totally independent of any previous bids (which are not a factor)What city, zones, star rating, dates and amounts have you bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Was unsuccessful and added zones that do not have 4 stars and rebid hoping to get Tradewinds IG or other 4* listed Don Cesar. My bids kept getting rejected so then I began trying 3* (hoping for Sirata of Tradewinds SP) and again after rejection added zones that do not have a 3* property in Zone (ie: Belleair, Dunedin). But again, no luck.Guess I'll just keep trying. Have noticed that some have won bids this past Summer for Tradewinds IG for $71. I would also be happy with 3* Sirata, Tradewinds SP, Grand Plaza, or perhaps Bilmore to a max. of $70.Any suggestions? Thanks.
thereuare Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Would you really prefer a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3*... it's a little early to be compromising your desired star rating, imo, if you really prefer one of the higher rated properties. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bailey Posted October 4, 2009 Author Report Posted October 4, 2009 Thanks for the reply. And you're right. However, I live in Canada and i'm trying to take advantage of the relatively high Canadian dolllar towards the U.S. dollar right now ( It's 93 cents to the dollar right now and with the lower oil prices will likely go down). My travel plans are firm, but I do have plenty of time on my side.I'll wait to take advantage of the 4* when I get an acceptable rate. Thanks
thereuare Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 I don't necessarily recommend currency plays (if you're that confident of the next move there are other ways to take advantage of the current 'low' price), but if you feel you'll be missing out if you wait, next time you cross the border, or pehaps it can even be done online, consider buying a pre-paid debit card in US dollars... this will give you the abiliity to purchase US dollars now to lock-in today's rate. You can only use one credit card for your hotel purchase, so make sure you include enough money to complete the transacation... anything leftover can be used on your trip in July. (but again, i don't necessarily recommend currency plays such as this)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
