djohannw
As we could not get the weekend-nights at the Grand Hyatt, we decided to give the Marietta-area a try. Bid 30$ and got a counter-offer suggesting to raise our bid by 8$. Declined that and waited three day and bid 32$, but was rejected, so added Midtown raising our bid to 33$ which was accepted:Hyatt Regency Suites Perimeter Northwest 2999 Windy Hill Rd Marietta, Georgia 30067 770-956-1234Check-In Date: Fri, Dec 10, 2004 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Dec 11, 2004 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Your Offer Price: $33.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $33.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.14 Total Charges: $45.14 (Bid the same for 12/11 as well seperately)So with this we have an average rate of about 47$ for some very fine hotels...Greetings - DirkGreetings - Dirk Link to comment

djohannw
thereuare, thanks for the warm (re-)welcome! It has been an extremly stressful time since the end of the summer, so I had not much time to be around.Maybe I should add that I was able to get a Midsize-car with Hertz for the weekend at $16.19 a day? And that is before a $20off coupon, bringing the total for three days to $35.18 with taxes. This really is a cheap breakout, leaving more money for christmas-shopping, in total about $430 for two, and thanks to the current exchange-rate we get a great bang for our Euro...And yes, shopping in Atlanta was great over Thanksgiving. We got there with a single checked bag and returned with four...;-)!Greetings - Dirk Link to comment
