pacificboot Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Hey all,I have a quick question.I have always pricelined multiple rooms at the same dates. However this time, I would need to priceline the following1 room: Dec 23 for 4 nights2 room: Dec 24 for 2 nightsObviously, I would want the same hotel. I have no experienced with priceline-ing rooms at different dates. Is that possible? If not, what should I do?Thanks in advance for your reply
thereuare Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 You'll have to assume some risk in this scenario but generally speaking these are your choices:#1 PRICELINE1 room for 12/23-12/271 room for 12/24-12/26PRO: no need to change hotelsCON: potentially different hotels#2 PRICELINE1 room: 12/23-12/242 roooms: 12/24-12/261 room: 12/26-12/27PRO: both rooms at same hotel when both group's stay overlapsCON: longer stay person may have to change hotels... TWICE#3 PRICELINE2 roooms: 12/24-12/26after learning the hotel book one room conventionally (if available) for 12/23-12/24 and again for 12/26-12/27PRO: no hotel changes and both rooms at same hotelCON: more expensive than booking all rooms opaque, hotel could be sold-out or prohibitively expensive for the additional room for first and last nite stay(s)#4 HOTWIRE1 room: 12/23-12/242 roooms: 12/24-12/261 room: 12/26-12/27First search HOTWIRE for each of the above date/room combinations to see if what appears to be the same hotel appears for each search (based upon amenties and any other information HOTWIRE may show). If same hotel appears, purchase each segment and hope they're all the same property.PRO: if goes according to plan, receive same hotel at a better price then booking directCON: little more expensive than PRICELINE, two hotels in zone could have same amenity combination and therefore receive different hotels for the solo one nite room first/last nites, after booking the 2 rooms for the middle nites the same hotel may not appear for the first/last nites (even if showed before the 'middle' 2 room purchase was made)I would at least start by researching #4 above as while there are no guarantees, if everything appears to line up correctly, it's likely the 'safest' way to play it to increase the probability of the same hotel throughoutPlease remember to use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to beign your travel searches and purchases.Any questions feel free to ask... let us know what you find if you do start with option #4 above. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
