Colfax Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I bid this Thur/Fri/Sat stay on behalf of friends who don't like waiting til the last minute, like I do.$95/4* was rejected in USE and SOMA-Moscone. $100 accepted.WSF is only $141 on the hotel's website, so this isn't a huge discount. But WSF was one of their preferred hotels so they're happy. If they get a tiny room next to the elevator I imagine they'll pay for an upgrade. HOTWIRE has what looks like Westin for $123.Bids placed through the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.

Colfax Posted October 31, 2009 Author Report Posted October 31, 2009 My friends report they were assigned a "standard" room, which means a small room with 1 Queen bed and no view in the Historic tower. They paid $20/night for an upgrade to a larger room with King bed in the Historic tower overlooking Union Square. At retail the upgraded rooms cost $50 more than the "standard" room so the $20 upgrade is a good deal. When I stayed at the Westin in April they wanted $35/night to upgrade so it looks like they've reduced the upgrade fee, or that the upgrade fee varies by date. Or maybe my friends wear better shoes than me.
thereuare Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 Glad to hear your friends enjoyed their stay and thanks for the upgrade.I'm guessing the rate is varaible, based upon availability and occupancy.
