Vix Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 I'm looking to stay in San Francisco for 3 nights. I've got a budget of $130 per night and would ideally like to be staying near to Union Square in a 3.5* or higher. Can anyone suggest a strategy for me? And if I was to hold off bidding until 27th Sept would that be too late? Thanks!

Vix Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 Sorry - got confused there. My flights are booked and it's 95% certain that i'll be going but looking to make the final decision at the wkend. If you think it'll make a difference I could start earlier although I'd prefer to wait.

Vix Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 I'd be keener on getting a 4* for slightly more and preferred areas would be USW, USE, and beyond that I'm really unsure so happy to take recommendations. Many thanks for your help
Colfax Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 You have five rebid zones for 4* in SF. Those are zones that only have hotels of less than 4* quality. If you need help identifying your five rebid zones please ask before you bid.I suggest selecting USE and USW and bidding $80 for a 4*. Then add you rebid zones, one at a time, raising $10 each time, til you hit your $130 limit. Please use this PRICELINE link and let us know how it goes.

Please help me by tellling me the rebid zones?Thank you!
Vix Posted September 29, 2009 Author Report Posted September 29, 2009 Fishermans Wharf and the Marina both have no 4* hotels, but once you try rebidding it's easy to see which zones don't have the 4* hotels. (I wasn't sure when I started and can vouch for the fact that it's easy to understand!) I tried up to $140 and failed so will try again nearer the time. In the meantime I've booked the Clift as a back up option.
rdesai Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Great, thanks! My bids up to $90 were not accepted. I tried USE, Financial Center, Civic Center, Fishermans Wharf, Marina.Any other areas to try? Thanks!
