Hana M Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Hello all, this is my first post and am glad to have found this very useful website.I really was looking for 3* hotels in the Oakland or SFO area and started my bid at $27.00. Was told that the bid was too low and started upping the ante to $30, $35, $37 (this was yesterday). At that point, I just randomly clicked on almost all the touristy areas in San Francisco and bid $40 but it still got rejected.Finally, I just focused on bidding around the Oakland area and started my bid with $35 for the 3* hotels which was rejected. Rebid, adding Berkely-Emeriville, selected 2 1/2* but again this got rejected. Added Hayward-Castro Valley and selected the 2* option while increasing my bid to $40. Success! $40 + 11.75 (tax) = $51.75 for 10-03-09 to 10-04-09, Alameda.Not familiar with this area nor the hotel but as long as a rat doesn't crawl into my mouth when I sleep, I don't think I will mind this at all. :) Oh yeah, originally used the actual Priceline website but found this forum and used BetterBidding's PRICELINE link.
