Hotwire Hotel: Need advice on where to stay

Hey everyone,

I will be going to a wedding on Oct 3 at Landmark in East Rutherford, NJ. The hotel the bride & groom chose is the Holiday Inn Hasbrouck Heights. Rates are $129 plus 15% with a shuttle. We didn't want to spend that much, so I could use your advice on where to stay. I will have a car, but would like something that may have a shuttle. I think I may be out of luck on that one! Not terribly important but would definitely be a bonus.....

Looked on Hotwire here what I narrowed it down to:

2*, 2.5*, 3* Fort Lee

2*, 3*, 3.5* Meadowlands

I'm pretty sure that the 3.5* Meadowlands is Sheraton but they don't have a shuttle that will take us to the wedding.

Any opinions out there on what we can do?

Suck it up and drive to the wedding?

I don't really understand Priceline, but would be willing to try there too!

I appreciate any help you can be!!!!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Your chances of landing a hotel with a Shuttle to take you to the wedding are going to be low as that feature is not common enough for this area to have it be a reasonable expectation.

Some of the hotels on Paterson Plank Rd (enter Paterson Plank Rd, East Rutherford, NJ at MAPS and HOTELS.com ) would have a shuttle, but i based upon most of the sold-out conditions i'm seeing at these hotels i'm guessing there is an event at the Meadowlands which is creating low availability for these dates.

How much are you hoping to spend?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I figured we'd probably just have to drive. Big deal, there are a ton of hotels in the 3-5 mile range. (just wanted a shuttle in case we had a few drinks too many!)

Landmark is like 50 feet from the Paterson Plank overpass. (Google maps street view is amazing!)

We are hoping to stay under the $100 mark. Don't really care where we stay as long as it's clean, and there's a bed.

I agree the 3.5* (Secaucus - Meadowlands) property with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Interent, Business, Golf is most likely the Sheraton, which would be an easy drive to the Landmark... but at close to $100 after PRICELINE's fee, i would consider if the $30 more to stay with the rest of the group at the Holiday Inn would be worth it to let loose and not have to worry about not drinking. (and maybe there will be a sponsored brunch the next morning at the 'host' hotel?)

Check out the Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, or Residence Inn all in Carlstadt, these are almost within walking distance, although I might just take a cab, much cheaper than a DUI in NJ.
