WGretzky Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Hi All.Won Intercontinental Park lane, started bidding at $100, kept telling me that they had a great deal for me at $200, but didnt bite. Kept increasing my bids at $10 increments first then $5 increments adding rebid zones. Not extremely happy, as hotel as mixed reviews as to whether this is a true 5 star or not, but this is the risk we take with PRICELINE! I am not too disappointed as it is a nice hotel, excellent location for a good price (for London!!)Also, used the PRICELINE links at the top of the page.ThanksW
yellowdog Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) Can you please post the dates for your stay so it can appear in boards Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of WinsWe hope you'll enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
brianc_li Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I stayed there through PL earlier this year. It is a lovely hotel, for decades regarded as one of the best in London (was previously the Four Seasons). A true 5* property in a great location. You'll enjoy it.
WGretzky Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 sorry...dates are 2009-10-10 - 2009-10-12Thanks,W

Rhine-and-Roses Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Let me agree with others who have stayed here. We loved our stay here. They gave us a room at 10 a.m, and I am sure it was upgraded although they did not say so- it was too big not to be. They have a very nice executive lounge and allowed us (two rooms) to all use it for the cost of one upgrade. They were friendly and helpful. You will enjoy it.
What Now Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Just to pile on, you're MUCH better off with the IC than some of the other "5" star hotels you could have won in the immediate vicinity (e.g., Sheraton Park Lane). It's a great property albeit modernistic looking from the outside. The only thing I dislike about it is the breakfast is insanely expensive. There's a great place to get breakfast a couple blocks up Picadilly toward the Circus called "Henry's" with very reasonable prices.
AaronJB Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Thank you to the other posters for providing the follow-ups/tips.
WGretzky Posted September 19, 2009 Author Report Posted September 19, 2009 Thanks everyone, for your reassurance and follow ups. i will def post a review when I get back! W
