ramelec Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I am living in Hong Kong (non-US resident) and have a Hong Kong credit card. When I tried the Priceline.com bidding, the next page request for a US address for making the online credit card payment. Is there a way to go around this? Please advise once the bidding and transaction is successful, and on the day showing up on the hotel for check-in, is there any chance the hotel reject my stay (not honouring the stay) since I am a non-US resident? Please advise and thank you very much.
thereuare Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 I am living in Hong Kong (non-US resident) and have a Hong Kong credit card. When I tried the Priceline.com bidding, the next page request for a US address for making the online credit card payment. Is there a way to go around this?See what others have done in this Priceline Non-US thread. Please advise once the bidding and transaction is successful, and on the day showing up on the hotel for check-in, is there any chance the hotel reject my stay (not honouring the stay) since I am a non-US resident?I know lots of poeple who have followed the address technique above and dont' know of any problems. You pay PRICELINE, PRICELINE pays the hotel (with their own credit card), so there shouldn't be any issue... since everyone gets paid, everyone is happy. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. ramelec Posted September 6, 2009 Author Report Posted September 6, 2009 I have been reading the tips and tricks, ie. closing and opening the browser, bid different zone..but so far I still cannot get the hotel that I want, for example 4* in Hollywood West? Did I miss out something? Please advise what I should focus on.... because it seems people do win it easily...thanks.
yellowdog Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 It's hard to answer your question without knowing how much you have bid? And rates are date specific. So you can't allways compare old wins with your dates. Can you please post your dates and we'll have a look at this.If you would like to get help with a bidding strategy so please post the zone(s) you're willing stay in, rating for the hotel and you max budget/night.Yellowdog.
ramelec Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Posted September 7, 2009 I am looking at 4* stay between 29 Sept to 3 Oct, with my budget around $100.Area Hollywood or West Hollywood.Thanks.

thereuare Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 HOTWIRE has a 4* (could be the equivalent of a 3.5* on PRICELINE) for $113 in the (Beverly Hills-West Hollywood) zone for $113/nite. I'm not 100% certain, but am guessing this might be the Tower Beverly Hills (Boutique, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Internet, Business)... would this work for your plans? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Colfax Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 You might win a 3.5* in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone on PRICELINE for under $100, ramelec; maybe in the $75-100 range.Someone can offer a strategy if you're interested.
