dahammer Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Bids at the 3* and 2.5* level were rejected at $75 and $65 respectively and since it was a same day bid, I didn't want to keep rebidding, so although others have won this at $50, I bid $55 and won on my first bid. Rack rates were $149.Your Offer Price: $55.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.17 Total Charges: $72.17 parking is a real challenge around here, there is a tiny garage under the hotel and a tiny surface lot, I was surprised that parking is complimentary. However, I had to circle the block a few times to find a suitable spot as the lot and garage were full. This hotel is located in a commercial area of Long Island City, so at night there is really nothing going on within walking distance and no restaurants nearby. However, the hotel has two complimentary shuttles that will take you to a nearby restaurant and pick you back up. The shuttle will also take you to a train station for access to Manhattan. The hotel itself is fairly new, Breakfast is free along with free wired high speed internet in the rooms. The rooms are small, but typical for a NY area property and they feature an in room safe, flat pane TV and a good sized working area. I received a room with two doubles. The location of this property is not as convenient as the Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Holiday Inn, all located in Long Island City and all within walking distance to a train station, but the free shuttle will minimize this. At $50 or so, this is a great value for a budget traveller and I would absolutely stay here again.
