liska Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I was bidding on 3.5 stars in Wilmington-Christiana area for September 3-4. I was pretty sure that I will get Sheraton Suites ( it is the only 3.5* listed in Delaware). I got my hotel for $45 - but it is Doubletree Downtown which is listed as 3 stars. What happened - did it get "upgraded " by Priceline ?I am disappointed since for $40 I could get Hilton Newark - which is a fabulous hotel for the money.Besides, Doulbetree charges 15 dollars for self-parking . Not a bargain :-(
yellowdog Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Thank you for sharing your result with the board!I don't follow you. You can't bid at a 3.5* and get a 3* hotel. You can bid at a 3* and get upgraded to a 3.5*.PRICELINE rates the Doubletree as a 3* hotel. See this linkCan you please doublecheck your confirmation regarding the star rating. Is it possible that you bid for 2.5* by mistake?Yellowdog.
dahammer Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 can you also provide the address of this hotel?I believe this property is located in a suburban area of Wilmington, next to a mall and parking should be free.
yellowdog Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 liskaIs it the 3.5* Doubletree Hotel Wilmington Downtown on 700 King Street, Wilmington. You're talking about? The 3* Doubletree in boards list is located at 4727 Concord Pike.
thereuare Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I think dahammer got it right, to clarify....There are TWO doubletree properties in this zone. From the Priceline Hotel List (has since been edited based upon this win):3* Doubletree (4727 Concord Pike)3* Spencer Hotel (now 3.5* Doubletree Downtown 700 King not yet reported)The hotel won in this stay is likely the 3.5* rated Doubletree Downtown at 700 King. The Doubletree at 4727 Concord Pike is still rated 3* by PRICELINE.Related links:Doubletree Downtown (3.5 stars)Doubletree Wilmington (3 stars) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
