roughrider Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 Hi there,This is my first post and I would appreciate some help. I am trying to book 3 rooms for myself and two other individuals that I am travelling with. I would like to know if there is any way to book 3 rooms with Priceline or Hotwire at the same time even though the dates are not the same. Ideally, I would like to book the following;Location: San FranciscoPriceline Zone: #5 SOMA (Moscone Center), #9 Union Square East, #10 Union Square West (Nob Hill)Rating: 3* - 4*Guest #1Check in - Friday August 28Check out - Thursday, September 3rdGuest #2Check in - Monday, August 31stCheck out - Thursday, September 3rdGuest #3Check in - Monday, August 31stCheck out - Friday, September 4thOn the Priceline website, under 'Can I add nights to my hotel reservation' in the FAQ it reads; You are unable to add nights to a single room of a multiple room reservation. If your request is accepted you may have to check-out of your original room and check back in to a different room.My question is - What is the best way to book multiple rooms, at the same hotel, with different check-in and check-out dates? I would really like to have us all in the same hotel. Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't do what you're trying to accomplish.Your best option is to either bid each person's room individually and hope for the best that you all receive the same hotel or you could bid as follows:1 room: 8/28-8/313 rooms: 8/31-9/31 room: 9/3-9/4The method dirctly above at least ensures that everyone is in the same hotel when everyone's stay overlaps (8/31-9/3) but the person arriving first (8/28-9/3) may be in a different hotel for the first 3 nites (8/28-8/31) and the person leaving last (8/31-9/4) may have to change hotels for the last nite of their stay (9/3-9/4)You could also search HOTWIRE for the 3 different stay dates above and see if the same hotel (based upon the star rating, zone, amenities, and any other clues provided by hotwire) appear for all three sets of dates, if so you could attempt to buy them all one at a time... assuming the same hotel presents itself for each of your subsquent purchases (as you buy the previous dates) then you could increase the likelihood of landing at the same hotel for each purchase. (if this doesn't make sense or you have any questions feel free to ask)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. roughrider Posted August 25, 2009 Author Report Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks for the reply. My gut says to go the HOTWIRE route, that is, if I understand what you're saying. On three searches that will work with the dates I have chosen, what looks to be the same hotel has come up;Hotwire3.5 * RatingUnion Square EastAmenities: Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaraunt and High Speed Internet Access.$139 per room, per nightWhen searching the dates that I need all three have this option. If I have three seperate bookings open that give me the option above, and book all three at the same time would you be comfortable saying that I will get the same hotel all three times? Is it fathomable that once I select the first booking that the hotel will then not have any more availabilities to make additional reservations?
thereuare Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 If all the amentieis match exactly on each search, then it is likely (but not guaranteed) that you're looking at the same hotel. As well, you can increase the confidence if Tripadvisor information is shown for the property (do a HOTWIRE search, click CONTINUE next to the offering, then look to the right of the map on the ensuing page) and all the tripadvisor (if shown) matches too (ie- star rating, number of reviews, and time of last review)HOWEVER, searching your dates above for the number of rooms posted for each leg of the stay i'm NOT seeing the same hotel appearing for each search... not sure if you're still seeing the same for each search. There is always a chance that once you go to book a hotel is no longer shown on a subsequent search, but the strategy above tries to lessen this risk by searching as outlned above (rather than one room for 8/28-9/4 and then an additional two rooms for 8/31-9/3).. since if only one room was avaiable, the latter search would show for both searches but not be available after one set of dates were booked. (if that doesn't make sense let us know and i'll try to expalin further)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. roughrider Posted August 25, 2009 Author Report Posted August 25, 2009 My dates have changed a bit.Guest #1Check in - Sunday, August 30Check out - Thursday, September 3rdGuest #2Check in - Monday, August 31stCheck out - Thursday, September 3rdGuest #3Check in - Monday, August 31stCheck out - Friday, September 4thThe TripAdvisor information is exactly the same, so I'm pretty confident that this is the same hotel.Any idea which one that it might be?
Colfax Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 I see the same icons and TripAdvisor ratings for all three sets of dates:Boutique, Nonsmoking, Fitness, Restaurant, HighspeedTripAdvisor 4.5/5, 880+ reviewsThat appears to be a match for the Orchard Hotel at 665 Bush. Note that's a different hotel than the the Orchard Garden Hotel at 466 Bush. Please use this HOTWIRE link if you purchase.
